Guest guest
As long as there is no recent exposure like amalgam removal, or vaccinations, or environmental exposure like lead paint in your house; There is no reason to wait to add ALA. Many do, but it is not neccessary. Also, you can raise the dose by 50% if he is tolerating it well. TJ ________________________________ From: kac0509 <dobefan@...> Sent: Thu, November 18, 2010 1:19:19 PM Subject: [ ] When to raise the dose of DMSA Â I am currently chelating my sone w/ 6.25 mg of DMSA every 4 hours round the clock, three days on, four days off (will be on Round #4 this weekend). Supporting supplements are on board and he seems to be doing well with it. It appears to be the one intervention that produced immediately recognizable results. We have been GFCFSF since March of this year (at the time of diagnosis of PDD-NOS). My son is almost 5.5 and weighs 54lbs. Up until this point, we have seen slow and steady encouraging progress but no immediate " WOW! " I am not trying to rush as I appreciate the importance of slow and steady but this is the bottom dose for his size. His heavy metal test showed elevated lead levels and I want the treatment to be as effective as possible since we are a little late to the game at this age. My question is if anyone has any advice on the timing as far as when and in fact, if I should raise the dose of DMSA. I do plan to add ALA as well but that presents another question. When do I know that the body burden it at a level where I can safely add the ALA? It may be that I need to test his lead level again before starting the ALA but I would really appreciate any thoughts or opinions on these two questions. Thank you in advance for your time in responding. I read daily the digest and have learned alot from everyone.
Guest guest
Thank you TJ. He did not get his Kindergarten vaccines or any flu vaccines last winter so it has been more than a year and a half if not longer. I will add the ALA when I start the next round this evening. Thanks again. > > As long as there is no recent exposure like amalgam removal, or vaccinations, or > environmental exposure like lead paint in your house; > There is no reason to wait to add ALA. Guest guest
Hi TJ or Dana, Our painter just have our car porch and fencing paint scrapped on Friday and in fact on the same day we added in 2.5mg ala to our daughter's chelation round (She was on 6.25mg dmsa for the past 3 rounds). All these while, we saw paint kept chipping off from the wall and that is why we decided to paint the carporch and fencing only. I wonder how the paint chipping off and scrapping the paint would affect affect my daughter. What should i do now ? Guest guest
How old is the house? I believe they took lead out of paint in the 70's. You can look it up. Also, scraping it is much better than sanding it. Make sure you don't cause dust that can be inhaled.
