Guest guest
Me three, I divide my doses by eyeballing them. Guest guest
True, gives lots of advice. So does the CDC. Common sense tells you that, when the advice is way more complicated than it needs to be, you should just ignore it. > > > > > >>> > > > > > >>> > > > > > >>>> I was wondering if anyone has some advice on dividing up a 25 mg DMSA capsule in half. Guest guest
Yes, for goodness sakes, people are talking about wanting the list to become a " police state " again, LOL. > > > > > > > > > True, gives lots of advice. Guest guest
Seriously, please. We all have enough to deal with. I personally really appreciate 's advice. Being insulting is entirely counter-productive and has partially hijacked this important thread. Pamela H wrote: > > Boys. Boys. Boys. Guest guest
I had read another good way to split capsules was to pour one into juice, say a 25 mg capsule into 50 ml oranje juice, then dose as needed by amount of juice, with a syringe. of course mix it up well. seems less inaccurate than eyeballing the pile of powder and less complicated than scale measuring (especially if you don't have the scale, as is my case). am I being way too simplistic here, any glaring errors in this interpretation of how to do things ? thanks to all who can respond. Guest guest
We do are dosing in juice during the day however at night I eyeball splitting the capsules and use water (mixing the dose at the time it is given). My dentist was concerned with the kids teeth using juice at night. I was told I could use a washcloth to wipe off their teeth after the dose but my daughter would not have it so I went with water at night. Any comments? Does this seem like it would be ok? Thanks! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > True, gives lots of advice. So does the CDC. Guest guest
Sounds fine. We have been giving dmsa at night for four years and not wiping my son's teeth off and he's fine. Cavities are more from nutritional deficiency than sugar. See Weston Price on Children's teeth and remineralizing. Jan > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > True, gives lots of advice. So does the CDC. Guest guest
Andy has said many times in the past that it's fine to eyeball the dosing when you divide it up. As long as the timing is done properly because the timing is more crucial than whether or not you get 20 mg one dose and 21mg on the next dose. Just divide it as closely as you can. I am sure if someone has time they can dig these old posts off Onibasu and repost them here. We are four years and running on eyeball doses. Round 97 done and 87 coming up...it's fine. Jan > > I thought I had read to eye ball the amount and that was fine. I simply am splitting in half or thirds, 25 mg depending on child. So I take three empty capsules or two, and pour. When I empty a 25 mg, I use them up too. No waste. > > I could be wrong, but I thought Andy said to do your best and it was fine. Maybe he'll chime in here. > > Tammy
