Guest guest
I stopped trying. Like others said, parents will say " we did the diet and didn't see anything " and then they say they did it for a month. Or their doctor says biomed is for quacks. Then what happens when you push a little more you become the classroom crazy quack mother and you'll have a strange year at class events. If your child is doing better than others, and someone asks what you are doing differently, tell them, but otherwise I've gotten to the point where I don't say anything anymore. Guest guest
I'll keep that in mind and will only say anything if they ask. Of course we can't take our kids with us as there is no babysitting available, but we shall see how it works out. I got my business cards in case I need them. Guest guest
I am the school crazy and my son is only in preschool. I can't talk to other parents without discussing my son's treatments. They are all kind about the sad medical problems that my child has, but they never even consider that their child is sick, they say luckily their child is perfectly healthy. Meanwhile I am thinking healthy children don't bang their hands and scream/cry all the time. Caryn > > I stopped trying. Guest guest
I agree. It's hard, but sometimes you have to just suck it up when you want to say something. I try to let my son's progress speak for itself. Then, they ask me what we're doing. I try to invite them to a TACA meeting, so they can learn by themselves. Guest guest
I've wondered the same thing and I'll usually ask them if they are doing any biomedical treatments. They'll usually say " what? " and I'll mention diet/supplements. Most say no and I can tell if they're not interested in learning more. There have been a handful who have been interested and I've been able to direct them or suggest a few things. They've come back to me letting me know the changes they've seen in their kid. That feels good and the conversation continues. My son gets speech and OT at a private clinic and I almost have a physical/sick reaction when week after week the parents who aren't doing biomedical stuff bring their kids in. I have wondered why they're not as 100000% determined to do something about their kid's situation. I do feel lucky b/c my part time job is very flexible and I have the time it takes to make all of this happen. I think some parents are content with their lives and think there is nothing they can do. I've definitely heard " well my doctor said... " too and I'm wondering how pissed off they are going to be in 5+ years when they finally hear from their doc that yes, the way we treat add, autism, etc... is via biomedical. Knowing they could have taken action and done something sooner - well - that would be hard to live with.
Guest guest
As my child progresses and theirs do not, I have had people approach me. Put it out there, that you do biomed, and they will come when they are ready (if they are ready). Pam > > > > I stopped trying. Guest guest
Zurama, Maybe you need a bumper sticker on your car that says, " Ask me how biomed has helped recover my son " or some such....
