My question is, what tests are required with natural chelation to check on metal excretion and that the child's body is not under any stress from the protocol? Do I need a doctor to do natural chelation? Below is a list supplements that my son is currently taking, which are essential and which ones can I drop? Guest guest
The TTFD cream is toxic. Taking DMSA every 3rd night will lead to long term worsening. DMSA must be taken at 4h intervals or less. J > > > > Hi, > My 6 year old ASD son has been under a strict high dose DAN! > protocol for the past 3 years. Guest guest
Hi , I meant to say the Oral DMSA was being administered 3 days on, 11 days off. I have now stopped the TTFD. I have only just noticed the supplement list in the files sections which was most helpful. I will be ordering Andy Cutlers book to have a further read. I am just so concerned now at the amount of supplements my son takes and want to narrow it down as much as possible. A lot of the ones I listed were recommended on our practitioners advice rather than on the basis of them making a difference to my child's body. Thanks again for the advice. Guest guest
> > > > Hi, > My 6 year old ASD son has been under a strict high dose DAN! > protocol for the past 3 years. I'm sorry. >My question is, what tests are > required with natural chelation to check on metal excretion None. >and that > the child's body is not under any stress from the protocol? No routine tests. If there are obvious problems sometimes tests will be indicated by the nature of the problems. Proper chelation is not the harmful, dangerous proposition that the DAN! protocol is. Since you won't be hurting him all the time you don't have to constantly test for harm. >Do I need > a doctor to do natural chelation? No. The doctor doesn't climb down your kid's throat and pick up the metal atoms. The chelator takes care of that - and since alpha lipoic acid is over the counter it is up to you whether you involve a doctor. > Below is a list supplements that my son is currently taking, which > are essential and which ones can I drop? Iodine is well absorbed. This regimen is overly complex and very trendy, but with the exceptions noted above, reasonable and sound. Get any cheap brand (fewest dollars per billion organisms/CFU's) and feed him a lot of it, this can be every day or two, it doesn't have to be every day or several times a day. Guest guest
Here is a link to a group where I was able to get kefir grains for the cost of priority mail postage. They increase in quantity over time. I'd send you some, but I don't have enough to share yet. Don't waste your money on buying kefir starter kits. You can only use those a few times before you have to buy another kit. If you take care of your kefir grains, you'll have them for years to come. Kefir_making/ There are several videos on youtube on water kefir and milk kefir. If casein is an issue, you may want to use the water grain or use enzymes with the milk kefir. The fermentation process is super easy . . . Many recipes on the web, some parents on this list do it and might describe it in detail if asked.
Guest guest
Here are some of my thoughts as someone who had a son who recovered from a combination of zinc loading and ac chelation (pics under bestbirths child #1): vsl 3 is antiviral right? We used the high dose virastop protocol We used inositol instead of 5htp we stopped selenium drops and used powder because the selinite version causes cataracts borage oil is also a part of Dr. K's zinc loading/chelation kpu protocol molybdenum supports adrenals, we used it with our son a lot and I wouldn't drop that. biotin increased yeast for us so we didn't use it My son took up to 20,000 mg per day of vitamin C in the sodium ascorbate form and still did not reach bowel tolerence. We capped it ourselves and used Now brand bought in bulk and save money just by capping pills ourselves. my son took 400 mg coQ10 a day in four divided doses for migraines. We buy it in bulk from Now and cap it ourselves B6 my son took folic my son took p5p my son took with ac chelation. It is part of pfeiffers zinc loading protocol and the kpu protocol (a disorder treated by some with a combination of chelation and gradually boosting zinc to 210mg or more a day for children who dump zinc) transfer factor is amazing for immune system boosting, and if you feel your son needs all this it sounds very much like my son, who we later found out has lyme disease induced autism and is now recovered. I never could afford TF yet though but its on the wish list. we used homeopathic ferrum phos as a homeopathic iron supplement, cheaper, and no gross taste. It looks like you are using a lot of expensive antivirals. Monolaurin, transfer factor, those are things I didn't get or didn't repeat cause of cost. Guest guest
Hi , Your comments have been very helpful. A lot of the antivirals that were put in are part of the Dan! protocol used by our doctor. I haven't seen that they have made much of a difference so will be reviewing them. You are right about the cost! Guest guest
VSL 3 is a probiotic used to reduce oxalate levels. The pinch of Vit C may also be due to oxalate issues. Vitamin C tends to make oxalate issues worse and the reccomendation is to limit Vit C supplementation to 250 mg and get the rest from low oxalate fruits/vegis. Guest guest
How would one know if we had oxalate issues? I don't tolerate C due to yeast. Have to stay away from most calcium. GFCF, sy free. Noticed a difference with Vit K. I'm sure I have adrenal issues, but want to treat as naturally as possible. Trying to find a multi I can tolerate v/c of C & whatever else in most reacting to. Â Many of us may have caused more yeast w biotin. I read it can be made from brewer's yeast. If you don't want to put a lot of effort into rearranging it, it is fine as it stands. If you want it simpler and cheaper that can be done. BTW, your doctor is one of the few who understands what the proper amount of Molybdenum is, most use far too little to do anything. Guest guest
For my son it was crystals, almost like fine sand, in his urine. An organic acid test also tests for oxalate levels and will show if there are issues. People who are prone to have kidney stones likely have oxalate issues. Guest guest
I dont trust my sons health to anyone but myself. I definately dont trust the mainstream docs, who were adamant that going GFCF was damaging my child, but also didnt hesitate to try and push Ritalin and Adderall on my child. I do my research, and ask lots of questions. Look at the science. Drugs have a half life and dosing instructions are based on that. When I read up on the AC protocol, I dug into the chemistry texts, researched information about the chelating agents and the diffrerent supplements, made up a list of questions and grilled my husband (a chem engineer, who also has a degree in chemistry). The protocol passed his " smell test " and mine as well. I also bounced all my questions and concerns about the different protocols off my sons DAN to get his take. He is one of the few DAN Drs that agrees that the AC protocol is THE safe way to chelate, although his dosing preference is slightly higher (starts out at 1 mg/lb-max 2 mg/lb). I stick with the Dr Cutlers recommendation and my DAN supports my choice(which is nice but irrelevant). Bottom line, do your research, always ask questions and trust your gut (after you've done the first two things!).
