Guest guest
Any way to scan it in in color and post it in the hair test folder in the files section? TJ ________________________________ From: sskold <sskold@...> Sent: Tue, July 6, 2010 12:18:07 PM Subject: [ ] new-hoping for results/chelation feedback  Dear group: I am relatively new to the group and am trying to determine if chelation might help my six-year-old daughter (apraxia, cdiff, yeast, asthma, allergies, poor growth, intermittent fevers and canker sores, etc.). I have the cutler book and it seems we do not meet the counting rules. I would love some confirmation on that. If that is correct, it seems antimony and arsenic are definite problems. I am also interested in any input on interpreting the zinc and calcium levels. (I am already supplementing with zinc based on previous testing-Nutreval/Genova diagnostics.) Note I included the porphyrin test as well. It indicated potential mercury, but a relatively low overall toxicity level. Our dan interpreted that as mitochondrial issues rather than mercury (based on very recent research/papers it seems). Any advice or feedback would be GREATLY appreciated. We have been doing biomedical for about a year without a lot of progress. We want to make sure we have the root of the problem. The yeast is a big problem it seems as is constipation and asthma. She is very frail. Thank you. Guest guest
Stacey, My kid had both oral and verbal apraxia, allergies (peanut-confirmed, mystery hives, respiratory), lots of yeast/bacteria issues, nasty poop containing undigested food particles, slow to put weight on..etc. An Organic Acids Test (OAT) was suggestive of mito issues. I will say that we were able to treat or get these under control using lots of supplements and speech therapy prior to chelation. Prior to starting chelation at age 4.5 (my son had a positive porphyrin test and met the counting rules), my son had graduated from speech therapy, had much improved poop, yeast under control, was an appropriate weight although small for his age AS LONG AS I gave him all his supplements 5X/day at times. Chelation has allowed us to slowly reduce his supplements by treating the underlying problem. We've dropped enzymes and carnitine, greatly reduced anti-fungals and probiotics, reduced zinc etc. without having his old problems return. We are currently in Round #23 using the AC Protocol (DMSA/ALA-low dosing round the clock). You can search on my name " epoxycozy " to see some of our updates. We used FISH OIL (big for us and almost a standard bio-med treatment for apraxia), Vit E, treated yeast, addressed a carnitine defiency + lots of vit/minerals etc. Check out the Mito Cocktail from www.danasview.net Mito Cocktail as follows CoQ10 Carnitine Vitamin E B50 [my lower doses above] Vitamin C Zinc Selenium Mito Cocktail seems to support the absorption of fats which kids really need for development. Hope that helps. > > Dear group: > I am relatively new to the group and am trying to determine if chelation might help my six-year-old daughter (apraxia, cdiff, yeast, asthma, allergies, poor growth, intermittent fevers and canker sores, etc.). At my house, constipation and asthma [and several other things] were all caused by yeast overgrowth. Guest guest
For Mitococktail - should all the supplements given at the same time/meal? I have tried multiple CoQ10's for my daughter but she gets screamy after day 6 onwards. I understand it should be given with fat. What normally do you give it with. I mean what kind of meal containing what foods? My daughter just had her porphyrin test results back. Her results are very simliar to the belore noted results. Our doctor tols us that it was more arsenic, aluminuim and plastic toxicity and the prefered first chelation would be Calcium EDTA or OSR. Has anyone tried these before. Any input or experience is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Richa. > > > > Dear group: > > I am relatively new to the group and am trying to determine if chelation might help my six-year-old daughter (apraxia, cdiff, yeast, asthma, allergies, poor growth, intermittent fevers and canker sores, etc.). Guest guest
I wouldn't say that they all have to be given at the same time or meal. Most fat soluble can be given 1X/day (CoQ10, Vit E). However, Vit C, B vitamins are water soluble and optimally should be given at least 2X/day. We found that Carnitine needed to be split into at least 2X/day and couldn't be given at dinner time because it caused sleep issues. Zinc we always had to split into multiple doses because my son needed so much zinc that we couldn't give that much at one time and have it absorbed properly (also too much zinc at once can cause nausea and vomiting). Also, NEVER start giving many supplements at once and ALWAYS start at your lowest dose you think might work and then work your way up. An example, our DAN started us on 750 mg/day of Carnitine split into 3 doses per day. Within 2 days, my son was a " toddler on speed " and also had diarrhea and sleep problems. I had to cut the dose all the way to 400 mg/day and give the last dose at lunch time before the problems went away. As far as meals go, we just try to eat balanced meals containing protein, carbs and fat. I didn't make special meals etc. I rarely gave supplements away from meals...usually only an anti-fungal which needed to be taken on an empty stomach. For the CoQ10 problems, maybe the dose was too high? Hope that helps. > > > > > > Dear group: > > > I am relatively new to the group and am trying to determine if chelation might help my six-year-old daughter (apraxia, cdiff, yeast, asthma, allergies, poor growth, intermittent fevers and canker sores, etc.). Guest guest
What form of Carnitine did you use? We use L-Carnitine 1000mg split twice a day. With Carnitine we see a lot of stinky urine. I have tried 60mg of Country Life CoQ10. But after a week or so we see the screaming. Guest guest
With carnitine, the urine or body can smell fishy. I think it is caused by normal bacteria in the bowel converting l-carnitine to another substance. It usually happens when someone takes over 1000mg/day. It is poorly absorbed when taken orally. Most is excreted in stool. We used Carnitor. I think I got him up to 2 pills, 3x/day. That might be wrong. Each was 330mg. Never smelled anything fishy or smelly. Guest guest
> What form of Carnitine did you use? We use L-Carnitine 1000mg split twice a day. With Carnitine we see a lot of stinky urine. My son did best with l-carnitine but some kids do better with acetyl. > I have tried 60mg of Country Life CoQ10. But after a week or so we see the screaming. Once I no longer needed CoQ10, it caused kidney pain. Try reducing the dose down to 30mg per day, give it with fat, see if that helps. Guest guest
Hi Heleen, It varies, some supplements or foods (like asparagus and others) can cause this but so can detox. Is the person chelating? Can you describe the smell? I had what I described as gunpowder smell early in the chelation process and believe that was the body getting rid of toxins. S S Re: new-hoping for results/chelation feedback Posted by: " Heleen Venter " v.heleen@... v.heleen Thu Jul 8, 2010 1:08 am (PDT) What does stinky urine mean? Is this a sign that the body is getting rid of the toxins? Thanks, Heleen
Guest guest
we are getting enough water into her. We just over a round of diflucan probably that why the urine could be stinky. We have not started chelating or detoxing. That is next on the list. I have to do lot of research before deicing which way to go. Thanks, Richa. > > > > > > > > > > > > Dear group: > > > > > > I am relatively new to the group and am trying to determine if chelation > > >might help my six-year-old daughter (apraxia, cdiff, yeast, asthma, allergies, > > >poor growth, intermittent fevers and canker sores, etc.).
