Guest guest
We are doing oral chelation with our 4 year old (Andy Cutler style)and were using DMSA and ALA together for the last 13 of our 19 rounds. Someone had told us that it's possible the DMSA could be bothering his stomach and that the DMSA is not necessary past the first month, so we just tried our 19th round with ALA only. His first full day on chelation was unreal, HORRIBLE, he was an emotional, defiant basketcase!! The second day wasn't nearly as bad, but holy moly!! Is this typical of ALA-only chelation or is it a sign that it's not working well without the DMSA? He often gets very emotional during chelation anyway, but this was so extreme and he said things that I have never heard come out of his mouth, ordering us around and very demanding, mean even! He was very sorry after each incident, like he didn't understand what was going on, but it was as though he couldn't control the outbursts. He had NO frustration tolerance, he would scream and cry and flail his arms all around, it was so extreme! His ALA dose is only .93mg per dose and he weighs 36 pounds, so he is not even up to the full 1/8mg per dose! Does this mean he is highly toxic or are we doing something wrong? He's on all the appropriate supplements. I don't know what else to consider other than lowering the dose and that might make it nearly impossible to split the capsules! As it is, I have to split half of a capsule 32 ways for one dose, he swallows pills and we prefer the pill dosing so we can take them with us when we are out and about and don't have to worry about liquids staying cold for night dosing, etc. Any other ideas about what this might mean? We tried ACE considering possible adrenal fatigue and he was super duper itchy on the ACE, he was reacting almost immediately and severly to it. We tried it twice with the same reaction. Guest guest
We have also experienced some of the symptoms you mentioned with our 7 yo daughter. We are doing both DMSA and ALA after a few DMSA only rounds. For us it happened whenever we increased ALA dose. We never did ALA only. We have kept DMSA almost very constant and very slowly increasing ALA after few rounds. Since you are saying he was doing fine with both DMSA and ALA, why don't you reintroduce DMSA at a very low dose along with ALA and see how will do? That's first thing I would do.
