Methadone

have any of you gotton off methadone as i am wanting off of it as soon

as possiable i went to my pain doctor the other day and had to soo his

PA and i left the office in tears and won't go back to see her again

and that in turns means i can not see m y pain doctor any more as she

is part of the dillso i want off my methdone as soon as possaible as

he hasn't called me back please help

I missed part of this email sorry, but if you don't mind my asking what

other meds are you on? I am on methadone myself and I can tell you that it

is the only thing that helps. However I do need something for break through

and the docs are not giving it to me.

One down side is, if you happen to, for some reason run out. I have never

felt anything so horrible in my life and I wish it on no one. And for the

record, the reason I ran out is because my doc was refusing to give me a

refill. The reason he refused had to do with nothing more then some paper

work. He filled my script with out question for 2 months. Then on the third

month one of my doctors had not sent him some letter and for that reason he

started to refuse my script. I went through 3 days of withdrawals because of

it and he did not give a rats a$$. Then he fired me as his patient. The guy

is the most awful doctor I have ever had.

One day he told me he would fill these meds with out question. I told him no

thanks I have someone filling them. But when the time came that I needed him

to do it he refused in a very cruel and inhuman way. Then when I was in

withdrawals he refused to treat me.

The second down side is just how misunderstood this drug is. Every time I

tell someone what I am on they ask what clinic I got through IE they assume

I am an ex heroin junky. There are docs, pharmacists, and therapists that

treat me like I am an ex-junky. For people with the degrees they have in

medicine it is amazing how many have no idea what methadone was really

created for. This is one of the most misunderstood medication I have ever

been on.

I hope everyone else is having better weather then we are. It's nice and

sunny out but it's cold and it's killing me.

Its terrible and wonderful at the same time

Hi petunia pigsmom,

Thanks for your thoughts about Methadone, and I'm really glad its

helping you, but I am wondering whether it would suit me. I am on so

many other sorts of drugs I think perhaps some won't mix after looking

at the netdoctor.co.uk site.

I will however talk to my doc and see what she says. She is very good

and understanding and if I approach her with new ideas we always talk

though them and decide together.
