Guest guest
What is the content in that anesthesia and it make you believe the content is the cause to make your child regressed? Just curious... Does it content toxic metal ( Hg or alumimun) in anesthesia drug? Sincerely, Rei From: ny2tx99 <mom2emmakate@...> Subject: [ ] regression after anesthesia?? Crystal?? Date: Tuesday, July 6, 2010, 10:11 PM  I thought I remember another mom mentioning their child regressed a lot after anesthesia. My daughter quit talking back in October and I'm pretty sure it's related to the dental anesthesia she the week before. I'm wondering how to get it out of her system b/c I really want her to talk again. She is almost 4 1/2 now. Last summer she could label people and things and make simple requests. Now she has NO words!!! We started DMSA chelation (AC protocol) back in March. 2 weekends ago, I switched to ALA chelation, still AC protocol. I'm about to add taurine to her supplements (read alot about it lately) and then reintroduce b12 shots. Any other suggestions??
Guest guest
Increase or use mB12, B6, folate. She probably had nitrous oxide given which depletes B12. Those who are already B12 deficient can have some real problems due to the build-up of methylmalonic acid. This isn't always the reason behind problems with anesthesia, but it is one of the issues facing our kids (especially those with underlying MTHFr mutations or methylation pathway metabolite probs). For kids on the spectrum, this can be magnified. I'm sorry this happened. Pam > > I thought I remember another mom mentioning their child regressed a lot after anesthesia. Guest guest
It wasn't nitrous oxide. They gave her a shot of something that caused her to fall asleep and then it was oral anesthesia. I've called the dental anesthesiologist several times and he never gets back to me. So frustrating!!! > > > > I thought I remember another mom mentioning their child regressed a lot after anesthesia. Guest guest
oral anesthesia meaning something placed over her nose? It would be interesting to know what they used. You wonder how much is metabolized and how quickly it leaves the body. Shot might have been ketamine? Ugh. Call the office and request anesthesia records. I'd just tell them I was coming in to pick up copies of the anesthesia records and leave it at that. Is the clinic local? Guest guest
The dentist office is local but they don't have the anesthesiologist records. They only have the anesthesiologist come once or twice a month. I'm to the point of telling the dentist office they need to get the info for me. How was I not given a copy in the first place? UGH! I thought she was going to have IV anesthesia but she obviously didn't. I wish I had been back there to see exactly what they did. I feel like I don't know exactly how to get whatever it is out of her system until I know what " it " is. Ya know? I'm about to add taurine and then I want to try B12 shots again. Maybe that will help? > > > > > > > > I thought I remember another mom mentioning their child regressed a lot after anesthesia. Guest guest
You aren't ever given a copy of records unless you ask. Call the office(s) and request records; get the anesthesia office contact info from your dentist. It will be a process to follow, but you are fully entitled. I wish all parents were offered a consult before surgery without having to ask for it. A quality anesthesiologist would've been willing to speak with you beforehand to discuss what is being given to your child. You need those records so you can avoid some/all of those drugs in the future. It will provide you with info to give to the next set of MDs, if needed. I guess I would still add/up the mB12, folate and B6 (methylation support), antioxidants like C, E, milk thistle for liver support (drugs were metabolized by liver) and maybe even activated charcoal? I guess perhaps too much time has passed for the charcoal to be of use. Oh, and consider the infamous mitococktails. Seems many of these kids have some degree of mitochrondrial dysfunction. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Pam > > > > > > > > > > I thought I remember another mom mentioning their child regressed a lot after anesthesia.
