Guest guest
I've done DMPS and DMSA. My mercury levels are now testing lower than they used to, but I don't have a noticeable change in symptoms from the mercury therapy. I know I still have more work to do there, but had to take a break. The chelating was taking too many healthy things from me and I was getting totally exhausted. I'm now better off than I was a few years ago, but it's very hard to pinpoint what's helped (lots of things have helped a little bit, I suspect). Except for the fatigue, as far as I can tell I had no adverse effects from either of these therapies. I would just caution you to go slowly and stop to remineralize (esp'ly magnesium) if you feel yourself going downhill. > DMPS > > > Hi; I'm very close to driving myself nuts trying to figure out what to do > about chelating the metals out of my body; so many options and the more I > read the more confused I get. Guest guest
I too read the horror stories from dmpsbackfires.com BUT reality is is my doc who practices alternative medicine and is the best doc in my area that I know does use DMPS and he has had 0 bad experiences and I told you about how I was in his office just last week and the lady who used to have FMS was there and no longer has bad pain, sleeps well, has no brain fog and is working two jobs. She had her fillings removed and did DMPS. Doctor Klinghardt, who is recognized as a detox guru, also uses DMPS and claims to have had no bad experiences with it which makes me feel much more comfortable about doing it if I chose to go that route. I posted his summarized protocol on this group a couple days ago or so. I myself recently did a DMSA Challenge test and may get the results back as early as today in fact and will let everyone know what the results are. Keep in mind that both that lady I just spoke of and myself had hair tests that showed mercury as very low and yet she had a lot in her and I may also. I broke a thermometer in my mouth as a child and so I've had 25 years now for it to bind to my organs. I will be meeting with my naturopathic pr. next week hopefully (she had to cancel this week otherwise I'd have met her yesterday) and will muscle test for doing DMPS the Klinghardt way and see if I get a positive response. - - > Hi; I'm very close to driving myself nuts trying to figure out what to do > about chelating the metals out of my body; so many options and the more I > read the more confused I get. Guest guest
> Hi; I'm very close to driving myself nuts trying to figure out what to do > about chelating the metals out of my body; > Hi , Dr. Cheney mentioned in a past lecture you have to get your glutathione elevated before doing DMPS, that's why CFS patients crash. Now, I suspect it appears you would also have to get your Growth Hormone levels corrected since GH is required to produce the 3AM Liver Detox event. Since CFS patients also have low GH they don't detox well. I suggest getting a copy of the Cheney video of his October-2001 lecture(from www.virtualhometown.com/dfwcfids), he does mention mercury and mentions how Chlorella is safer, buts works slower and takes longer. Guest guest
No apologies necessary, PJ! I end up reading my emails in backwards order, so I answered before I read all your emails! Anyway, it is a " compounded pill " that is gotten by Prescription. Only some pharmacies carry the drug, I guess since it is compounded-apparently, that makes a difference. It costs $43.00/pill! A lot of insurances don't cover it, but mine did, so that was a blessing!! My Alternative Med Doc, who actually found my Lyme's, is treating me with the DMPS. The Lyme's Docs talked about IV Chelation, but my Altern Doc told the Lyme's docs he thought the oral was the better way to go. I'm lucky that I keep them all informed & they pretty much work by each other recommendations, esp since the Alt Doc had more experience treating Mercury Toxicity. Hope that helps. Ask away if you need to know more. I don't have a problem with side effects, although recently I started with notable Depression & Anxiety (moreso than normal, since I have been sick for 7 yrs) & I am wondering if the DMPS or the drop in Mercury levels could have something to do with it. The pharmacist who was familiar with the DMPS, said it is very possible since my serotonin levels will go haywire while the mercury is leaving my body. As you know, it is all guesswork with so many different health issues, but that theory would make some sense. Hope that is helpful... I had my > fillings out years ago, but without proper chelation, I fear. I have heard > mixed reviews of the provocative form of mercury testing that you tried > Glen, any thoughts on this anyone? I've also heard of uncertainty with DMPS challenge tests and using it for detox. But it does seem like there are very few methods to accurately test for mercury, so decided to try it even if it was an experiment. In my case I had no side reactions to DMPS, but I did use the cilantro before/after, so it may have buffered me from experiencing any bad reaction. The mercury measured was off the scale, so it seems it was effective to get some mercury to come out, so seems like a good method for me so far. I've head of a gentleman who had MS, and had his mercury based fillings removed, but didn't go through detox. It never changed his MS condition. Then years later he went through mercury detox and now he is virtually free from his MS, and out of his wheelchair. That was enough of a story to convince me to do a full detox. Guest guest
Does anyone use DMPS instead of DMSA for chelation? Does DMPS has less side effects than DMSA? Does anyone know a doctor in the east coast who is familiar with AC protocal and is willing to prescribe DMPS for the patient? Thanks, Helen
Guest guest
Cant answer the last question, but we've been using DMPS/ALA for over a year with no problems. My sons DAN recommended DMPS, better for arsenic then DMSA. Ive heard that some who have problems with DMSA do better with DMPS. Karla > > Does anyone use DMPS instead of DMSA for chelation? Guest guest
He is pretty good. Gets his DAN blinders on occasionally, but encourages my questioning and accepts that there are some things I wont do. Generally works with me.
