Guest guest
Fly, Thanks for chiming in with your Trezadone comments. I can't help but think it will help me, and make a big difference! I find it easy to understand why I have fibro, and it really is a great relief for me to say to friends/family that it isn't in my head. And knowing that something so simple as getting enough decent sleep will help! I don't intend to have much clearer thoughts, but maybe they'll stay with me for a few more minutes! LOL As my mom says, thinking gets us in trouble, so why do it??? :-) Susie " Suzanne Evancho " <Iwannafly@o...> wrote: > Susie, > I've been reading the latest digest and see you've been dx'd with fibro. Guest guest
Hiya! Had to jump in when I saw Trazadone mentioned. In lower dosages it's prescribed as a sleep aid (much cheaper than Ambien!), and this one place I worked literally every client used it at night. They all seemed to do just fine with it. When I was prescribed it a few years ago for sleep I got massive migraines from it. Apparently that's one of the possible side effects. So it didn't work so well for me. I don't see it prescribed too often for depression anymore, at least not with my clients. But from what I've seen it seems to make a person sleepy no matter what. I've seen clients who were prescribed to take Trazadone three times a day, and they were complete zombies. They couldn't keep their eyes open. I'm sure it works for some people, but wow Trazadone really seems to knock lots of people out! Just wanted to share experiences about a med that I at least have some idea about. A lot of the other meds being mentioned I don't have experience with so I can't chime in, and I do love to talk! Guest guest
I could never take trazadone I'm sure. The 0.5 Ativan I'm taking is enough to make me tired. It also gives me a headache. ( I do not wish to take it anymore but am tired of the chest pain. Today I'm so sick and nauseous and dizzy and still the chest pain. I'm waiting on a call back from the doc to see if there is any help for me. My husband thinks I'm so sick because of withdrawals from the Lex and the Ativan but how could I withdraw from Ativan when all I take is one 0.5 miligram tablet at night? I was only on the Lex for one month too. ( At this point I don't want to take anything more than a Tylenol for the next 3 months! Thanks for listening to my vent. Guest guest
THanks Jen for your input. I have never taken Trazadone but I ran accross it on the internet and was reading a little on it. I definitely don't want it if knocks me out. If amitryptaline has comparable effects like zombied out then I would not like it. That is why I like Lexapro because I feel alert and mentally sharper. --- Jen <jenniferm32@...> wrote: > > Hiya! > > Had to jump in when I saw Trazadone mentioned. > In lower dosages > it's prescribed as a sleep aid (much cheaper than > Ambien!), and this > one place I worked literally every client used it at > night. Guest guest
I was prescribed trazadone as a sleep aid, and it certainly worked well as just that; A sleep aid. HOWEVER, it gave me terrible nightmares, which is why I could no longer take it. Cyndi Bohan <cynboh@...> wrote: I could never take trazadone I'm sure. Guest guest
Meryl, Online drug and, medical sites and doctors unanimously confirm it's not addictive. But it does help you fall asleep, so if you don't take it you don't fall asleep as easily. If it were addictive and you stopped abruptly, you'd have other troublesome withdrawal symptoms: anything from pronounced body restlessness to nightmares to irritibility, weepiness, and more. What I can't find is anyone stating that it helps you sleep through the night. A number of people I know say that with just about any sleeping aide, after a few hours of solid sleep they may wake and not feel sleepy, not be able to get back to sleep. That was the advantage, for example, of Halcion for long flights—you'd wake up after 3hrs with no hangover and feeling refreshed! Trazodone does appear to produce drowsiness during the daytime in some—I imagine the higher the dose, the more that's true. I'm going to try to stop and see if I feel more awake during the day--and if my memory improves!
