Guest guest
Have any of you tried adding glycine to your oral chelation with DMSA regimen? I saw where Dr. Holmes suggested metal excretion was enhanced by adding glycine. I noticed DMSA Synergy has DMSA with twice as much Vitamin C and some added glycine. You could actually just add glycine yourself to your regimen, in theory. I'd like to know if any of you have tried this or are doing this. Guest guest
I have read about that before, but can't find the research report that discussed it. It said that glycine helps move intracellular metals out of the cell. That would explain the increased excretion. But I did come across this article mentioning glycine also moves aluminum which may cause redistribution... Drew, I've been using the DMSA Synergy that you mentioned, but not long enough to have an opinion about it. If the glycine moves mercury out of cells, might it also move it into other cells. My understanding is that if you take the DMSA before starting on the more powerful ALA, you allow the DMSA clear out what it can from the neck down before the ALA starts working in the brain, etc. Therefore maybe it would be better to start with DMSA that does not contain glycine. Then take DMSA with glycine. Finally you take the DMSA + ALA. Joe
