Guest guest
I guess a thought to me is........if you didn't custom build or stay on top of things, the dust can be terrible in a new house. Run the fan on the furnace to keep the air circulating and keep changing out the filters. We bought a spec home, it was a nightmare! Custom built, cleaned a ton, no issues. Vacuum a ton, baths, shower when coming in from outside. Do you have an air cleaner? Honestly, we didn't see any issues moving into 2 new homes in 6 years plus a rental, but if chemically sensitive, off gassing might be his nightmare. Hopefully not. Check the air ducts, make sure clean. Even take a duster to the walls. Our building wiped all the walls down. The dust alone from trim work. Tammy [ ] questions: allergies, moving stress, red ears We moved a week and a half ago, and it didn't exactly go as planned and my son had a difficult time. He seems to have settled in a bit more, no longer crying for " familiar " as he put it, or crying because " strange! confused! " . Anyway, if any one has any tips, I'd sure appreciate them. We do cyber school at home, and I'm having trouble keeping him focused and caught up, and I can't get the house unpacked properly to make it feel more like " home " . It won't feel like the old home - it's completely different, and we replace a lot of things with better quality stuff - he wants " his " bed back, but we invested in an organic chemical free mattress and boxspring. We addressed the bulk of the stress/anxiety with therapies, social stories, Bach flower and homeopathy and a lot of positive reinforcement and hugs. He does LOVE the new place, trying to learn to ride a bike and even trying to make friends, so I'm hoping it all works out right in the end. Now, to top it all off, it's bad allergy season where we live and he's particularly allergic to tree pollens. With the messed up move, we missed our NAET that he needs for this time of year as a " tune up " . We are scheduled for next week - but what a long week ahead. His face is swollen, his eyes are inflammed and itching, congestion, sneezying, wheezing, coughing, cranky, not sleeping, and miserable. Trying some homeopathy in the meantime which is barely controlling things. He has severe reactions to all Rx allergy meds we've ever tried. I did try Benadryl last night and got a really bad reaction from him - hyper, giggly, and terribly aggressive and violent. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears. Speaking of ears.....we've used epsom salt baths for about 3 years now and saw great things. Now lately, his ears turn red IN the bath. I used to put him in the epsom salt bath to GET RID of the red ears. What does this mean? Should we stop the baths? We've been doing biomed for 3 years, and chelation for a year (the past few weeks we had to stop as we had living arrangement issues with selling/building). He has improved by leaps and bounds overall - his ATEC was last at a 31 and his behvavioral therapists were pleased because he met all his goals. Now the past week it has all fallen apart. I'm hoping NAET for the allergies gets him back on track like it usually does. Thanks for the usual great advice!
Guest guest
We did custom build, but there IS a ton of dust, because we were first on our cul-de-sac and we have construction going on all around us - literally as I sit here I'm watching a crane thingy lift roof trusses for the house across the way. Of course, that's not helping my son's focus either - it is little boy heaven! There is an excavator in my backyard grading at this minute and he's out on the deck just in awe. So the dust is an issue, I'm trying to vacuum every evening, and he bathes before bed every night. We are running air cleaners throughout the house. We're amping up some supplements and he seems more regulated today. Giving him a lot of heavy work to tire him out. Thanks, > > We moved a week and a half ago, and it didn't exactly go as planned and my son had a difficult time. Guest guest
, I recommended Quercetin, it is a natural anti-allergy med and has done wonders for me. Dust is a big problem, penetrates in every corner and is a carrier of so many things, are you covering his bed with a plastic linen during the day? So you make sure when you put him to bed it is really free from the particles flying around during the day. Guest guest
Sorry to hear about the transition problems...Did you move into newly built home? I keep reading about imported drywall from China which gases of toxic sulfur gas...apparently used in quite a few new homes built in the South but possibly other places as well. If you have a particular faith, you could also pray a blessing over the new place and your family - it might give a moment of peace as you're probably all stressed by the move! Take care, PJ > [ ] questions: allergies, moving stress, red ears > > > > We moved a week and a half ago, and it didn't exactly go as planned and my son had a difficult time. Guest guest
Yes it's newly built, but we custom built and were in at every step - no Chinese drywall. And the house was cleansed and blessed in every way I knew between settlement and the movers arriving. Actually, besides the allergies (which are now doing better with homeopathy and NAET) and stopping the epsom salt baths, he's doing rather well now. I think we may have just reached a point where he did not need an epsom salt bath every night. After 3 years of biomed and a year of chelation, it appears that we are seeing real changes where he doesn't need as much stuff anymore. Is quercetin the same as curcumin? We started Enhansa a few weeks ago and saw great things. I increased the amount after the allergies blossomed and that seemed helpful. Thanks to all- > > Sorry to hear about the transition problems...Did you move into newly built home?
