Guest guest
If you are on sulfa drugs or antibiotics, it is critical that you replace the good bacteria in your body that these drugs kill. The meds can't distinguish between the good and bad bacteria and just kill everything. For females, this can cause yeast infections but can also cause diahrea, candida and many other illnesses. Many doctors (good ones) will tell you that you must take acidophilus when you are on antibiotics to keep you from getting sick. Eating a yogurt each day can accomplish this, but you can also take accidopholus pills. Here are some links where you can find more info about it: http://my.webmd.com/hw/diet_and_nutrition/tp21170.asp http://www.askdrsears.com/html/8/T080400.asp My rheumy always asks me how I am sleeping and has prescribed sleeping pills because I don't sleep due to pain. His office did a study of sleep problems due to RA. He wants records of all medical issues that I see other doctors for. I consider him my primary doctor because he manages everything for my health because RA affects everything! Good luck to those of you struggling with your rheumys and PLEASE try to find one that will listen to you and knows what they are doing. Guest guest
I wish my RD was like yours.....it puzzles me....for a 186.00 office visit...you'd think he'd listen more .....I've told him from day one........for about 3 years....I was not Sick...took NO MEDS....and I was getting really tired all the time...and in a Lot of pain....but put it down as the I'm about to hit 40 and things Hurt ...lol. I spent the better part of 2 years.....thinking I was just getting older...and things hurt and you don't have the energy u had at 30.......Little did I know, how wrong I was...LOL. I wish my OB/GYN hadn't retired....you could see him about anything....He's the one that started working on the Candida Syndrome in my late Teens.....and Strangly....a lot of Docs don't believe in it (in my experience)....my GP will subscribe the Nystatin Orals tabs for me.....but I'm not too sure she thinks they work....but they do. I haven't slept but a FEW good 8 hour nights in about 4 years.....RD agrees I need GOOD Sleep....but isn't concerned as to how I go about doing that.....(@@). Isn't concerned about my pain....... If we had more closer...I'd switch....but 45 mins driving/riding is about my limit..... If I went to a bigger city....I'd never make it back.....LOL. Carla Ohhhh Yes.....good tip on the Yogurt....I do that too...will look into the acidophilus. > > If you are on sulfa drugs or antibiotics, it is critical that you > replace the good bacteria in your body that these drugs kill.
