There are plenty of other things to help control blood sugar - biotin, bilberry extract, omega 3 fats, chromium, vanadyl sulfate to name a few. Also the Rx drug metformin is pretty benign. If you don't stop the ALA, I honestly do hope you're one of the people who just isn't very sensitive to mercury so that it doesn't hurt you. However if your child needs chelation, that's pretty unlikely. BTW, chelating with ALA has a high likelihood of resolving the blood sugar issues. Guest guest
I'm sorry Andy. If you could just clarify. You have me quite nervous now. Are you saying it is dangerous for me to take 600mg at a time or is it because I have amalgam fillings? (please confirm amalgam fillings are silver filling right?) Is it safe for me to take it using your chelation method or would I still have to have my fillings removed first? If you google pre-diabetic biomedical it is all over the internet as a safe way to reduce your blood sugar. They never mention anything about having fillings removed first. What negative effects are your talking about. What could happen to me if I continue and how come I have not noticed anything thus far. I am doing this in hopes of not takeing perscription medication as it causes problems with getting insurance and I guess I just don't want to resolve myself to the fact that I have type 2 diabeties. Please answer, I really need your help! Thanks, > > > > > > I just wanted to comment on this post. > > > > I have a mouth full of amalgam fillings and I have been taking 600mg/day of ALA for blood sugar control for the past 4 weeks. > > Stop it right now!!!! > > > > > Initally I was taking 300mg in the am and 300 in the pm but now I am just taking 600 in pm. > > > > How come I have not had any of the effects you are describing. > > Don't worry, you will. Guest guest
If your taking 600mg of ALA a day your not following Dr Cutler's protocol and you have obviously have misinterpreted it or do not understand it. The protocol is specific in dosing and timing of administration of ALA. You cannot chelate with amalgam fillings (yes silver) they are 50% mercury by weight. Using that dose of ALA you are likely moving mercury into your brain. > > > > > > > > > I just wanted to comment on this post. Guest guest
Actually, I started doing this before I even heard of Andy's chelation method. Here is only one of the links that recommend this. http://www.ehow.com/how_5010702_treat-diabetic-insulin-resistance-naturally.html I have been taking this for almost 2 months now. No negative effects. Could it have something to do with the fact that my fillings are about 25 years old. It's not that I don't trust Dr. Cutler, I actually am going to start chelating my daughter in January using his method. Is it possilbe that at this dose the effect is not the same? Maybe, I could still have a problem but it takes a while? I don't know, I'm scared. On one hand, it's working to lower my blood sugar, which is a good thing, on the other hand I don't want something horrible to happen to my brain. Guest guest
If it were me I would take the word of a PHd chemist who wrote a book called amalgam illness over an eHow.com article written by " netwriter m " Many other things that can help with blood sugar control that don't have the potential to do permanent neurological damage. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I just wanted to comment on this post. Guest guest
Years ago, before my child regressed, and I hadn't given autism even a thought, I had a blood test that said my blood sugar was " prediabetic " . It was 100. So the doctor was all over me to come in and get tested regularly, and told me I'd be on insulin within a year, and kinds of hogwash. I changed my diet, and added some exercise, and eventually some herbs. I don't currently have diabetes. But - I did what you did, found a supplement with a high amount of ALA that I took 3 times a day. I was SO sick! I shook, I was light headed, I couldn't think straight. I stopped taking it. I had assumed that it was working too well, and lowering my blood sugar too much. When I started this journey to recover my son, and learned the science of ALA it all made sense. > > > > > > > > > I just wanted to comment on this post. Guest guest
Thanks Andy, I thought I remembered it right from the early days of disscussing the use of ALA when you have amalgam's. I know that it was caused the severe brain fog when I took it. I'm pretty sure I am mercury toxic too, but until I can come up with the $$$ to get my amalgams out, what can I do? for now, I am concentrating on healing my son. Thanks, Haven
Guest guest
, Taking ALA had the same effect on me. I think I wound up with more mercury in my brain!
Guest guest
Maybe you should stop taking the ALA and then re-read what Andy wrote. You seem to be suffering from side effects already. Spend money on vitamins (the same basic ones as for your son, vitamin C, E, A, magnesium and zinc). Put some creative effort into figuring out how to find the money. Shop around for different dentists, price may vary quite a bit. Get a filling or two re-done any time you have enough money to do that. Just make sure sure sure not to have a gold filling touching a mercury filling, even temporarily and even across your bite. >for now, I am concentrating on healing my son. > > Thanks, > > Haven > > >
