Guest guest
Bob et al, Can we all just call a ceasefire please? and I are discussing our differences privately. I do want to clarify a couple of things. One, I have nothing against energy healing. I studied a form of Japanese energy healing along with my studies of Shiatsu and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I spent two years in classes learning about Qi and applying energy healing methods. They didn't heal me, but others found me to be an effective healer, and the teacher complimented me on my abilities. I saw there how the master could say one thing and the students could miscontrue his words. He could talk about being positive in a positive way, and a young man in the back of the room would mutter, " if AIDS patients would just eat better they would heal. " Every philosophy or religion has people who twist its words around. I wasn't helped, but that was my experience. It doesn't mean I reject the whole art. I have been doing energy treatments on my dog lately. Two, if I said at any point (I don't believe I did, but Bob seemed to think so) that should stop posting, I apologize. I believe in free speech. This list isn't meant for editorializing about other people's lives, and that's really what I was objecting to -- her broad statements about other CFIDS patients. I do think that when one starts to make an insulting statement about a whole GROUP, it fits the definition for bigotry. I don't think posts that criticize a whole group of patients should be allowed on here. I think what's in someone's heart can be very different from what appears to be in that person's words. I would *hope* that we all have a good heart in regards to each other's healing, that we sincerely wish the best for each other. I think in general we do. I think the point about unity that someone made was crucial, but I don't think unity can be achieved without recognizing the profound differences between each of us. What helps one may harm another. A prescription for a whole group of CFIDS patients, or a whole group of people, is a prescription for disaster. Guest guest
> I don't know , don't want to accept her offer. Was it Hale who said that he may not agree with what you are saying but he would defend to his death, your right to say it? Honestly, I am NOT offended if people don't believe in energy healing!!! I am sane enough to know it sounds super crazy and wacko and I totally have been skeptical myself of it in the past too. So goodness, I don't expect people to line up and go, YAY ENERGY HEALING!! I know it all sounds like a crock. :-) However, if it continues to be an issue, maybe it would be useful to have a separate CFS list for " woo woo " topics. That way people who are interested in them can go discuss them...all two of us (just kidding). ;-)

Guest guest
Could you please respond to all parents' posts about your reasoning on removing from the list? We need him back, if you do not like him for whatever reason, then maybe you should go and let another parent be the moderator. What else do you need from us? You do not " own " this forum so do what's best for parents. Enough already!
