Guest guest
Hi all, Recent attention has been given to a little known subject called dirty electricity (see article in Prevention magazine: http://www.emrpolicy.org/files/prevention_jan_2010.pdf) <http://www.emrpolicy.org/files/prevention_jan_2010.pdf> I recently found http://www.ourkidsautismrecovery.com/ <http://www.ourkidsautismrecovery.com/> which mentions use of Graham-Stetzer filter for dirty electricity, which has supposedly helped some people with autism as well as other conditions like Multiple Sclerosis. What is dirty electricity? It is intermediate frequencies on electrical wiring, often introduced by appliances plugged into the outlet, or sometimes by poor power quality. Magda Havas, professor at Trent U. in Canada did some research on it at the request of someone at a school with dirty electricity problems where many teachers developed cancer. She was at first skeptical of finding anything, but found the school had extremely bad dirty electricity and that many people experienced symptom relief upon putting in Graham-Stetzer filters. As I did some google searching on autism and dirty electricity, I came across some cases where there was some recovery with help from the filters. Another potential concern is wireless technology. It became popular in the 80s & 90s when autism is on the rise, so award-winning B. Blake Levitt in her book Electromagnetic Fields has posited a possible relationship. See studies below for more info on possible link. In light of this, please limit your child's exposure to wireless radiation + dirty electricity, as some research in recent years has been raising some possible connection with autism, and possible relief by reducing one's exposure. Precautions you can take: * Dirty Electricity * Replace CFL bulbs with incandescent, * Replace Plasma TV's with LCD TV * Avoid dimmer switches, * Use Graham Stetzer filters in outlets which have electronics, e.g., * Computers plugged in which may generate dirty electricity * Measured with Stetzerizer Meter (See and http://www.electricalpollution.com and http://www.magdahavs.com) * Reduced with Graham-Stetzer filtes * Wireless: * Replace wireless routers with wired routers (they radiate 24/7, even when no computer is logged in) * Replaced DECT cordless systems with corded systems (the station radiates 24/7 even when the handset is not in use) - see http://www.electricalpollution.com/documents/08_Havas_EPetition_DECT.pdf <http://www.electricalpollution.com/documents/08_Havas_EPetition_DECT.pd\ f> * Turn off Wi-Fi on your laptop (http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?t=214308 <http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?t=214308> ) * Don't live near cell towers, a distance of at least 400 meters is recommended * Reduce cell phone use, turn it off at night or when not needed. * Powerline: * Replace CRT monitors with LCD flat panel monitors (lower powerline EMF) * Move electrical alarm clocks away from the bedside at least a meter * Don't live near power lines, should be at least 150 meter from the largest ones-- likewise keep a meter's distance from regular power strips * See http://www.emrpolicy.org/files/prevention_jan_2010.pdf <http://www.emrpolicy.org/files/prevention_jan_2010.pdf> There's not much published research into this area that I know of, but here's some limited support: * (1) Paper by Carlo / Mariea suggests mercury + electromagnetic radiation may be related to autism. * (2) Study, " Autism may be Linked to Electromagnetic Radiation Levels In Mother's Bedroom During Pregnancy " http://electromagnetichealth.org/media-stories/ <http://electromagnetichealth.org/media-stories/> * (3) Both mercury and electromagnetic radiation may contribute to demyelination of neurons (see C. Kane's book on Russian Roulette). * (4) Some autistic children found improvements by Graham-Stetzer filters in homes with a lot of dirty electricity (frequencies on power lines). * (5) Brick, NJ,with an autism cluster was near a 750,000 watt Doppler radar transmitter, and they had difficulty finding other possible causes * (6) High rates in California where there are likely to be a lot of early adopters of new technology * (7) Autism: High levels of mast cells which are also high in people sensitive to wireless radiation (pubmed ID: 20074449) (see Olle Johansson on mast cells)
