Yes, use all the medicated shampoo, doesn't do the trick. Prednisone always gives me beautiful skin. Most itchy flaky scalp issues were eliminated here with biotin and GSE. However, selenium was required for one particular problem. Dana
Guest guest
For some of us sensitive folks, it's tolerated easier used on the skin v/s swallowing. I used some shampoo with it in it for a few weeks. I shed a few flakes I didn't know about, & they didn't come back. Kat -- mrossgrp@... wrote: No. GrapeFRUIT Seed Extract. Guest guest
GSE in shampoo helps our daughter's bad dandruff, but it makes our son break out so we can't use it on him. Just FYI, maggied. > > > For some of us sensitive folks, it's tolerated easier used on the skin v/s swallowing. > > I used some shampoo with it in it for a few weeks. Guest guest
No. But I'm working on because my daughter has dandruff. We have tried every kind of dandruff shampoo. None of them work. They just ruin hair. Our dermatologist said she has dandruff because of her oily scalp.  Oddly, her scalp is always dry and flaky, but her hair is oily.  I'm working on a new hypothesis. Dandruff looks like miniature soap flakes. Some kind of soaps are made of sodium and lard. In other words, salt and fat. The oils on her scalp are fat. Perhaps she is excreting salt through her skin.  She never drinks enough water. A pint of fluids a day maybe. Maybe if she drank more water, she would have less concentrated sodium in her skin. Also one of her tests showed she was low in potassium. Sodium and potassium have to be in balance.  Do you drink much water? Are you getting enough potassium?  Sylvia  PS The best treatment I've found so far, is too scrape all the dandruff lose from her scalp before washing her hair several times. A few drops of tea tree oil added to the bottle of shampoo helps. Tea tree oil is very harsh on the scalp. Don't apply it directly. Guest guest
Hi, We are dealing w/this same thing here in my 10 yr. old dd--thick patches of scalp were sloughing off, itching, hair thinning. We tried everything--apple cider vinegar soaks to the scalp, tea tree oil, etc. She smelled like a salad when I put her to bed every night w/her hair treatment The ONLY thing that has made a difference is changing her diet. I believe that the scalp issue was an autoimmune reaction to food intolerances secondary to a leaky gut. We pulled gluten, casein, soy, corn, beef and a few other foods that showed up as " red " on her ALCAT food intolerance test. Voila--her scalp is slooooowly getting better. I hope when with chelation the healing process will improve tenfold. Blessings to you, ~Robin " Tammy Kuhn " <tkuhn1@...> wrote: I'm so sick of my yucky sculp. Guest guest
My 2 cents. For me few things cause itchy flaky scalp: yeasts overgrowth, dairy infraction, and using regular shampoo with Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate. I buy now shampoo without this nasty stuff. Liquid handwash made my hands skin dry and cracked as well, changing it to good old traditional soap resolved the issue. Galina > > I'm so sick of my yucky sculp. Guest guest
You could also try an apple cider vinegar rinse. Its good for removing build up and good for the scalp. I have dry scalp and oily hair and do a rince with ACV and water mix once a week and its helped alot. Using shampoos without all the chemicals has also helped. Guest guest
Hi, try ;s dermatitis shampoo or ;s dandruff shampoo.. /this can be bought at Whole Foods and has all natural ingredients.. Corinne _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Darla Sent: Tuesday, February 09, 2010 10:40 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Re: ot - yucky sculp We've used a number of shampoos, including various tea tree formulas. Lately we've been using Miracle II soap as a shampoo, trying to avoid chemicals. We also tried mixing various oils - tea tree, lavender, coconut, oregano, grapefruit seed extract, etc..- and applied directly to scalp. Left on for a while and then washed out. Minimal, temporary improvement. If we get improvement in face then the scalp gets worse. If we get improvement on her scalp, the face gets worse. When she went to a theme park for the weekend a few months back, she came home with HUGE improvement in face and scalp. She was out in the sun a lot, very unusual for her. I read the demodex are worse at night and run from light. Tay confirmed that the itching is far worse at night and often wakes her up. Thinking about adding internal parasite killers - neem, clove, etc. Researching sea buckthorn oil now. Guest guest
Hi, try reading the book, The Yeast Connection by Dr. Crook. This will explain what has happened to the body and how to fix it, especially with the gluten free diet.. Very interesting book.. Take care.. I think it is eczema related and yes, the feet too. My head gets very itchy when I have a food I shouldn't have...I am restricted too but feel much better that way. > > I'm so sick of my yucky sculp.
