Guest guest
I don't know where else to turn to ask this question so I hope someone can help... My son was suspended from school for 10 days. Long story but after a fire drill (everyone knows has overstimulating that can be), the principal of the school was scolding the 8th graders and my son who doesn't like crying or when people are mad (specifically using loud tone or anger in voice) pushed the principal. I was very angry they even had him in this environment when they know he has issues with tone. Nonetheless he is suspended for 10 days per the administration. The principal is ok - perhaps just a little embarrassed. When he returns, he is not allowed to return to the school where the incident occurred. The school is offering him to be tutored at an alternate site which would be only 4 days a week from 9-noon. Meanwhile, we have requested out of district placement, however, it will not be in place until some time after he returns from the suspension. Are they legally within their right to not allow him to return to his original programming until we find an out of district school? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks. - in Connecticut
