I had to apply for SSI.

I have been turned down and now in the Appeal process.

You should read up on what you are applying for and understand the ins and outs. SSI IS EMERGENCY AID. It supplies you with cash for basic essentials. Applying will entitle you to other assistance as well as emergency medical benefits and welfare benefits. Remember. You must pay back any money once your disability has gone through.
