Guest guest
There are a couple of things I would want to rule out if there is itching but no rash. One is an allergic reaction, which can manifest with itching and no rash, and the other would be cholestasis. It can include rash and other things but it can also produce no rash in some cases. Pregnant women can often get cholestasis and should have bilirubin checked. I had a " mild " case of this while pregnant -- not pleasant. I itched like crazy! The reason you might want to rule it out if the itching persists is that some drugs --herbal or not can cause cholestasis. Elevated bilirubin levels over a lingering period of time can damage body systems. If eyes or skin begin to yellow, then it is getting more serious. I'm not a doctor but am speaking from experience. My son developed elevated bilirubin levels shortly after birth, as well. Someone here more knowledgeable about the use of OLE could comment further on this. Guest guest
I did OLE with vitamin A and vitamin E for about 2 years. I had bad die-off rashes with itching for a very long time. I found that when a specific bug was dying off, I would get some similar symptoms to when I had the infection. For some people, chicken pox really causes a lot of itching. So it is possible that it is related to die-off of chicken pox or something else. For me, a hot shower and wiping my skin down with either peroxide or diet tonic water would calm the rashes and itching for a few hours. These days I am more likely to do a distilled water wipe. On a side note, when I have a runny nose and/or productive cough from something exiting my system, I make sure to get plenty of fluids and a good quality sea salt. It supports the process. Good luck with this, whatever the specific answer turns out to be in this case. Guest guest
When we first began taking sea salt, we took it with just a glass of water. As for how much: As much as we craved. My oldest son and I both have a genetic disorder which causes the body to miss-process salt and my youngest son is a carrier. So we sometimes took quite high doses. I was taking around 2 to 3 tablespoons a day at one time and my oldest son was taking a good deal more than that. So I would say go with as much they crave and don't fret too much if they go through periods where they crave a lot. I also found that if I really obviously needed more salt but couldn't make myself take it with water alone, consuming it in a dish with the right carbs and oils/fats made it possible for my body to properly absorb it. That's part of why mashed potatoes made with sea salt and organic butter (and sometimes a little coconut oil, but never any milk) was a daily staple around here at one time. HTH.
