Guest guest
This happen to us back in 93, yes a long time ago. For some reason the appraisal process got screwed up, not sure why. But our builder let us move in. Was new, we didn't built. He didn't have too but did out of kindness. Not sure what we would have done. 90 mile move!!! Did you custom build the house, make the payments? The house is yours? If you build, you can close, conventional loan, like 6 months later. We did that waiting for the rates to drop, did, just 2 1/2 years ago. If you built it, move in??? Tammy PS Have no idea how VA work! [ ] REALLY OT - I need info fast about real estate & mortgages Does anyone have any info about VA home appraisals? How long should an appraisal take after it is requested by the bank? I spent MONTHS prepping my kid to move, we built a new house so it was a gradual process of aclimating him to the move, and I had more control of his environment. He was happy and ready and doing well with the transition. I have all his therapies changed and scheduled to start in the new town. It's a holiday weekend this weekend. We got a call at 4:45 pm today, less than 24 hours before our settlement tomorrow saying that they don't have a VA appraisal for underwriting and canceling the closing until they get it. When? No one seems to know. According to everyone I'm speaking to, no one can even FIND the damn appraiser. 2 weeks ago, we got the official letter from the bank with the settlement time/date, telling us to be sure to have insurance in place and all that happy crap. We do. EVERY and all OUR t's are crossed and i's are dotted. We don't know what is going on - but our current house is sold. We need to be out of here in less than a week. I had to cancel our movers, cancel the U-haul for cleaning out the storage unit, extend my rental on the storage unit, I'll have no utilities here come Thursday - so have to hope I can stop all that being shut off. We cyber school at home - it's all packed up and we have nowhere to do school next week after Easter. I'll be calling my attorney in the morning and personally going to the bank. Does anyone know ANYTHING about mortgage processing of VA loans/appraisals? We never had this trouble before. Please email me offlist if you have any info/advice. Thanks so much. Guest guest
The appraisal is supposed to take no longer than 10 business days from the date it was ordered. Have used VA twice in the past and the appraisals were done within a week. Karla > > Does anyone have any info about VA home appraisals?
