He has agreed to accept positive titers. My concern is getting a measles shot, for example, if one/both are immune to mumps/rubella. Can I get individual shots? Same with tetanus. I think I can get him to forget about diptheria and pertussis, but my thought is there is no mercury free tetanus. Are the diptheria/tetanus boosters (Td) for children? > > Menactra is just going to happen. I can see that (we lost a colleague to meningitis; it was brutal. He was traveling in an underdeveloped country without being vaccinated, but still). Any thoughts on how to protect the kids before/after this shot? > > Pam >
Guest guest
In all the years I went to school, there was no vaccination against meningitis. There was one they gave to anyone who came in close contact with one who was diagnosed with it. My brother had to get the shot as a classmate of his died of it in fourth grade. But they didn't vaccinate the whole class, just my brother's class. In all my schooling years, this was the only death from the disease, but one child is one child, and it is a bad disease. but I don't remember my son getting the vaccine you named. He did however get Prevnar, which was full of mercury, and I think this one added put him at his tipping point. you are supposed to be able to get individual shots in place of MMR, but few doctors provide this. It can't hurt to ask.
