Guest guest
Irene, Does your son repeat everyything you say, or does he just repeat the last couple of words? We are trying to sift through what we think is echolalia (he has apraxia, so we would not understand a long string of echolalia anyway) because the speech therapist says it is not (and he clearly repeats her words when she asks a question...but my mother says he has that learned behavior from speech- he has learned to repeat what the ST says.) Thanks, > > > > > > > > > > I'm really surprised to see that some kids have significant language > > > > > benefits thanks to this program. Guest guest
Used to be just the last few words- now he can perfectly repeat everything. What I do is say- don't be a parrot- that is the question- what is your answer and he will answer now. I tell him don't be lazy. Sometimes he just repeats thinking it will please us or when he is paying rapt attention to a computer game and is tuning us out.
