Guest guest
B2 resolves my chapped lips. B6 and some other B vitamins increases my need for B2. http://onibasu.com/archives/am/199416.html > > Hi Jean > Tom has had really badly chapped lips - so bad that he can peel the skin off them (yuck!). Should i add extra B2 and B6 (think these are the 2 that if low can cause the lips issue. > Appreciate your thoughts > G >
Guest guest
High doses of Inositol solved this for us. We had to use Kirkman's powder, other brands did not work. > > Hi Jean > Tom has had really badly chapped lips - so bad that he can peel the skin off them (yuck!). Tried all sorts lip salves - no change. I increased his B vits and it pretty much instantly cleared up. he usually has 1 Jarrow B vit cap a day (half breakfast and half at supper) so I upped to 2 a day BUT it makes him stimmy. School noticed and asked what had happened 'cos his concentration is so poor at present. So I'm doing 2 caps 1 day and 1 cap the next but stims remain. > I wondering why the sudden need for extra Bs??? Chelation???? > Is there a better way to handle? Tried all sorts lip salves - no change. I increased his B vits and it pretty much instantly cleared up. B2 deficiency caused this here, so it is likely the B2 that helped. >>he usually has 1 Jarrow B vit cap a day (half breakfast and half at supper) so I upped to 2 a day BUT it makes him stimmy. B vitamins required carnitine for proper absorption here, and did tend to increase yeast. So you might need to add carnitine and/or increase the yeast protocol. Or, your son might not need the increase of the other B vitamins, so you might go back to just one capsule of the B vitamins, plus add one capsule of B2 only. > I wondering why the sudden need for extra Bs??? B12 depleted B2 here. Also, iodine [and other thyroid support supps] depleted B2. Are you giving either of those? Dana
Guest guest
We found that putting on salves, like carmex during the day was a waste because they just rub them off or eat them. We apply them, along with any other creams needed, soon after our boys go to sleep when thay are in a very deep sleep. This cleared up their chapped lips just fine. We have a problem in the winter when the air dries out. Guest guest
thanks - no iodine and no thyroid supps here. We have just done fluconazole (sp?)for yeast. I think I'll try adding just B2 and drop rest back, will add carnitine after and see how we go. Yeast - we tend to be more of a bad bacteria boy but I do keep a watchful eye for yeast and prevent/treat as needed. Thanks again for your advice G > > Tom has had really badly chapped lips - so bad that he can peel the skin off them (yuck!). Tried all sorts lip salves - no change. Guest guest
Are there any other symptoms of B2 deficiency that I can look for? My son does not have chapped lips but I have been giving B12 shots for about 8 weeks, and iodine, and I wonder. TIA, wrote: > Tom has had really badly chapped lips - so bad that he can peel the skin off them (yuck!). Tried all sorts lip salves - no change. Guest guest
My DD developed peripheral neuropathy. Thankfully, I remembered the messages which follow and gave her B2 and have been able to resume dosing her Bs in some cases and have switched to activated forms of these vitamins where possible, for example P5P instead of regular B6. http://onibasu.com/archives/am/199417.html http://onibasu.com/archives/am/201265.html > > Are there any other symptoms of B2 deficiency that I can look for? At my house, a red rash on one side of the mouth, cracks in the corner of the mouth, foot numbness/tingling, and oppositional behavior.
