Guest guest
The KICK creme is a prescription gel/creme. From: Bromley <lbromley@...> Subject: RE: [ ] Leg pain lyme-aid Date: Monday, September 21, 2009, 12:25 AM Ive also had the leg pain, more on then off the last 15 yrs. It is horribly painful and relentless. Nothing seems to help to much with it. Since I dont have money for Drs, no ins., to sick to work, single mom with 2 kids, one very sick with Lyme also and other circumstances, I have to try and just treat symptoms for now and this sounds like something that would make my pain much more tolerable. Do you have to have a rx to get this KICK creme? Or can I just call this place and order it? I wish I could get some sort of pain medication, that would change my life from night to day..... Guest guest
Hello. I've been reading this list for a while, but I don't think I've posted here yet. I just returned from a trip and was amazed to read all these posts about leg pain. Horrible, excruciating leg pain has been my primary symptom for almost 20 years now and no one has ever been able to explain it adequately. My first diagnosis was " non-classic fibromyalgia " (which never felt like a good fit, since my pain isn't flu-like and doesn't include the upper half of my body). Later, food allergies and chemical sensitivities proved to be part of the pain picture. One doctor thought the pain might be related to mercury poisoning, because of known effects of mercury on the myelin sheath. Do I understand correctly that most of you attribute your leg pain to babesia? About a year ago I tested positive for Lyme (through Igenex) and more recently I tested negative for babesia (through Quest). Do you think the leg pain is enough reason to try another test for babesia, or can other co-infections, or Lyme itself, cause similar pain? I'm also curious about the pain mechanism. Is it related to inflammation of the nerves or blood vessels or . . .? And why the legs rather than another part of the body? Anybody know? Thanks to all who take time to share their knowledge on this list. (Kudos, also, to whoever came up with the name. I love a good pun.) -Martha
Guest guest
Hi, Martha, My leg pain first began in 1993 after a particularly bad " flu " virus. It wasn't until 2006 that I was finally diagnosed with lyme. I don't know if I had any coinfections then or not. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, then MS, then lupus, and when fibromyalgia for accepted a little better, that too. None of them every quite fit. Then they thought it was post-herpetic neuralgia, and gave me Valtrex, which helped a little bit sometimes, but never felt quite right either. Also food allergies and environmental sensitivities - some of which I do have but even avoiding them didn't relieve the pain. The leg pain went away after I got over the lyme in 2007, and was completely gone for over a year until I got ehrlichia from another tick bite. After I got rid of the ehrlichia enough so my immune system could keep it under control, the leg pain was again gone and stayed away for another year, until I recently got infected with babesia, bartonella and mycoplasma from another tick byte. So - I'm not sure which one exactly causes the pain - but am very sure it is lyme related. Carol Monroe Nature doesn't judge. It's pure love, pure being, perfectly in the moment because it's not thinking all the time. Such is the nature of enlightenment. Guest guest
> The leg pain went away after I got over the lyme in 2007 Thanks for responding. So you didn't do anything to particularly target babesia at that time? What treatments did you use for your Lyme. if you don't mind me asking? -Martha
Guest guest
HI I have a wierd one! History first, he is 6 yrs old and had step back in November. We treated with antibiotics. This past Sunday I took him again with high fever. Strep came back negative, buy the Dr still suspected strep and gave another rx of antibiotics. He had a fever all week and it broke yesterday. Yesterday he started dragging one of his legs and I thouht it was just asleep. This morning he woke up and couldn't walk. He complained that his legs hurt. He walks like an old man and when he walks for longer periods, it seems to improve. I've slacked off some of supplements since he has been sick. We are doing nothing out of the oridinary supps. Multi, omegas, calcuim/mag, vit c, bcomplex, folic acid, mb12, taurine, ltheanine, sonic cholesterol and probiotic. I did switch his probiotic about a week or so ago. The Dr did a CBC and protien blood work which came back normal. She is saying to give motrin 3xs a day and call if he gets worse. Otherwise, see how the weekend goes. Any thoughts?? This was really scary this morning! Thanks!
Guest guest
HI Ya we thought it was weird when it happened to our girl when she was three years old. She is now 7. When it happened to us she had not been assessed and I was not aware of the world of viruses so I trusted the doctors. Silly me thats what got us into this in the first place. Okay back on topic. We had an MRI - suspected tumour on spine or brain, lots of blood work two days and nights in Children's Hospital and in the end they guessed it was a virus with no proof. For us it showed as an on and off thing for a week or so that her leg seemed to stop working and dragging. Then one day it completely stopped we were terrified as to what was happening and went to our Paediatrician. Since I have followed this group I have seen other families report the same thing happening. It just passed after about two weeks for us and it seems about the same for others. Hope it something that passes for you. Simone F > HI > I have a wierd one! History first, he is 6 yrs old and had step back in November. We treated with antibiotics. Guest guest
Not sure if this is the same...but we had similar issues from systemic yeast...and with those antibiotics...I would sure be suspect about it. We had it shoulders and arms, too. So you might want to up your yeast protocol a lot. HTH Ronni > > HI > Ya we thought it was weird when it happened to our girl when she was three years old. Guest guest
Have you checked for oxalates? Could be a sign of oxalate dumping. Karla > > HI > I have a wierd one! Guest guest
Not trying to scare you and this could be totally unrelated: I remember getting my MMR 2nd dose (booster?) before I was to enter kindergarten. Coming back from the doctor's office, my mother dropped me off at the top of our street to walk down to our house alone. This was meant to be a practice run, as I would be catching the bus at the corner and walking down the street by myself. As I was walking, I felt like I couldn't move my leg anymore. It could've been the leg that I received the shot, but the memory is cloudy. I thought I wouldn't make it down the hill. I think there was pain but again the memory is cloudy, it was definitely a feeling of paralysis. I spent the next day in bed, feeling like I couldn't move my legs. Then it passed, and I was fine. We went back to the doctor, but I don't think anything came of it. My son's legs and hands go numb from time to time. It definitely happens when we try to chelate, but it also happens when he is not doing chelation. He told me he thought that was normal, and so he never mentioned it. I told him it was not and now he lets me know. I also shared it with a neurologist, but she did not offer any possible explanations or seem concerned. I know there is no mercury in MMR, so that couldn't explain my reaction. My son always mentions pain and numbness when chelating, so I guess it is more pronounced then. It is only recently that he mentioned numbness in alternating hands/legs when not chelating. I guess there is no pain, or he would have been concerned. Any thoughts as to why? > > HI > I have a wierd one! History first, he is 6 yrs old and had step back in November. We treated with antibiotics. This past Sunday I took him again with high fever. Guest guest
I know another child who has severe leg pain along with regression after vaccination. He has spells where he is in a lot of pain. I think they are seeing someone who treats it as a nerve disorder.
