Guest guest
Please don't do any more challenge tests. They are dangerous and do not provide useful info. This doc does not understand mercury toxicity and most likely uses a dangerous protocol. Consider a DDI hair elements test (with counting rules applied) if you're not convinced by the porphyrin test.) Consider chelating on your own without this doc. S S New member and need your help Posted by: " Azmerallda " azmerallda@... azmerallda@... Tue Feb 16, 2010 4:15 pm (PST) Hi everyone i am a new member to the group and want your help the porphyrin test for my daughter (7 years old) show strongly mercury toxicity indicated by increased 5cxp, prcp and cp values Her new doctor believe that porphyrin test only indicates that it might have mercury toxicity and we cann't depend on it to start chelation so her mercury level in urine was detected before and after taking DMSA (200 mg, her weight is 20 kg)and the mercury level was in the normal range in two cases!!! I am really confused what to believe?? Did my daughter have or haven't mercury toxicity??? Guest guest
Your doctor sounds a little lacking in knowledge about mercury toxicity. Do a hair test and apply Andy's counting rules. Or better yet, do a ten round trial of chelation following the AC protocol. If you get good results, you know your child is toxic and you are heading in the right direction. Tests can be misleading, especially urine tests. Chelate and look at the results. Read the FAQs and other info in the files section of this group. Guest guest
, I have no idea how much your DMSA/ALA will cost in the UK. Here in Wisconsin, I think I spend about $70/month to chelate both my son and myself. He takes DMSA/ALA and I take ALA. Both from Kirkman Labs. I'm sure I could buy cheaper ALA but this is easy and has a good track record in our house. If you are tight for money, take a look at your DAN! vitamins to see if anything can be bought cheaper or eliminated completely. DAN! doctors are notorious for spending our money on supplements. I use Doctor's Data hair tests from the USA. Do you have access? pam > > > Hello > > > > Can you tell me how much AC chelation costs per month so that I can budget > > > > We already have 15 months of DAN vitamins in place so im just talking about the DMSA/ ALA type things > > > > Also where is best place for hair test - I used a place 3 times in Surrey, UK, but the results were very vague and not very useful > > > > Best wishes > > > > > > > > > From: tj_werth@... > Date: Wed, 17 Feb 2010 15:50:42 -0800 > Subject: Re: [ ] New member and need your help > > > > > > Your doctor sounds a little lacking in knowledge about mercury toxicity. > Do a hair test and apply Andy's counting rules. > Or better yet, do a ten round trial of chelation following the AC protocol. > If you get good results, you know your child is toxic and you are heading in the right direction. > Tests can be misleading, especially urine tests. Guest guest
Get a DDI (Doctor's Data, Inc.), hair elements test and make sure to apply the counting rules or post results here and we'll help. You have to order the test through DLS (Direct Lab Services) If you mention this list they'll give you a discount. Guest guest
, Liviing network is a site that sells ALA and DMSA overseas, believe they ship to UK and may give a good idea of what you'll spend. http://livingnetwork.co.za/ Karla > > > > > > Hello > > > > > > > > Can you tell me how much AC chelation costs per month so that I can budget > > > > > > > > We already have 15 months of DAN vitamins in place so im just talking about the DMSA/ ALA type things > > > > > > > > Also where is best place for hair test - I used a place 3 times in Surrey, UK, but the results were very vague and not very useful > > > > > > > > Best wishes > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > From: tj_werth@ > > Date: Wed, 17 Feb 2010 15:50:42 -0800 > > Subject: Re: [ ] New member and need your help > > > > > > > > > > > > Your doctor sounds a little lacking in knowledge about mercury toxicity. > > Do a hair test and apply Andy's counting rules. > > Or better yet, do a ten round trial of chelation following the AC protocol. > > If you get good results, you know your child is toxic and you are heading in the right direction. > > Tests can be misleading, especially urine tests. Guest guest
Reading about it on the internet it is suppose to have detoxing properties. I would stick with something that has known properties, like ALA and DMSA.
