Thank you for the response, but he's highly allergic to pork so I wouldn't take

a chance in giving Adrenal Cortex and the Liciore has alot of side effects with

high blood pressure, etc.

----Here are some posts by Andy that we have saved in our links at FDC. In

general, he does not recommend using cortisol for children, except in rare

cases. There is other adrenal support you can use, such as adrenal cortex

extract, that would be appropriate. ---Jackie

About the adrenal cortex extract (ACE), both Nutricology and Thorne Research

brands are extracted from cows, not pigs. Nutricology has discontinued their

product, but to my knowledge, Thorne still makes theirs. There are other adrenal

support products which you should consider trying as well since they really do

help if the adrenals are the source of the problem.

If your son's cortisol levels are low, he may also have problems regulating

blood sugar and the aggression may coincide with dips in levels during the day.

Consider giving him regular snacks, increasing his proteins, eliminating sweets

or giving them only with protein. Chromium piccolinate also may help with blood

sugar problems.

Have you tried Gaba? It helps some people with anxiety.

It goes against everything I've read, but Adderral really helped my son. I

consider it a band-aid that helps him make it through the school day without any

problems. He is 15.

I find this subject very interesting. I have an eight year old (regressive

form) HF ASD son and am hoping to circumvent early puberty. According to Dr.

Mark Geier, my son does fit the profile of a child heading for early puberty.

Can someone please chime in with more information on this topic?

My son does have an increased stress base line. He is managing himself quite

well regardless. I use GABA and Theanine (as needed), magnesium + P5P, calcium,

omega 3 oils, zinc, and (preferably cold processed whey) proper protein levels

to help him remain in as minimal stress as possible.

I have searched and found Neuroscience Calm-PRT. It SEEMS to address the

precursors to the issues of high cortisol and early puberty. However I would

greatly value the input of my fellow list mates regarding this product and this

issue.

thank you in advance, Theodora

To address the adrenal gland function and low cortisol, we used a supplement

called Drenatrophin PMG by Standard Process. Here's the link.

http://www.standardprocess.com/display/StandardProcessCatalog.spi?ID=63

Also, supplements that helped calm include calcium, Magnesium plus Gaba and Min

Chex.  I didn't like the idea of putting my son meds, so I took him to a

Naturopathic Doctor who put him on these supplements.

Here's another article on the subject:

Just checking, but I'm assuming that you meant to write " low cortisol " not " high

cortisol " ?

I don't know how high cortisol affects early puberty, however I know that

adrenal fatigue can play a role in early puberty.
