Guest guest
My son gets sniffly with winter allergies (some sort of black mold on the backs of the fallen leaves...). When it gets bad and he starts mouth breathing, his lips get dry, he starts licking them and rubbing them...boom they're chapped. Sometimes he ends up with a red mustache! Anyway, we treat the congestion as well as the lips and things resolve. We give extra C, magnesium, B6, B5 and Quercetin - which is part of an asthma/allergy protocol we have from a Bock book on asthma. It helps, but if that doesn't work, we give a sugar-free nasal antihistamine. > > Hello everyone. I had a question about what to do about dry and crack lips. My son keeps dry and crack lips no matter how much we put on vaseline, a & d ointment, coconut oil, and other lip balsms. Its hard to keep it on him while awake because licks it off. Is there something hes missing in his diet or some vitamins that he is lacking. If you have this problem or have a solution please share. Thanks in advance. Guest guest
For me, that's a sign I need to up the liver support and 5-mthf (active folate). If there are cracks at the sides of the mouth, consider giving more riboflavin and some form of carnitine (we use acetyl l-carnitine but some prefer l-carnitine). Jo > > Hello everyone. Guest guest
> Hello everyone. I had a question about what to do about dry and crack lips. At my house, this was usually B2 deficiency but sometimes was folic acid deficiency or yeast overgrowth. Dana
