Guest guest
Hi Kathy, Told by whom? DMPS pros: it can be safely dosed every 8 hrs. cons: requires a prescription, and the doc will want office visits in order to authorize refills. The malabsorption is probably due in part to metal toxicity. Is he on probiotics? What's his diet like? I presume he has NO mercury amalgam dental fillings. Have you considered ALA? It's available OTC. Which metals is he high in? Did he meet counting rules? S S DMSA vs. DMPS Posted by: " pominvillek " pominvillek@... pominvillek Fri Oct 29, 2010 9:09 pm (PDT) I was told I should start my son on DMPS. I am having a hard time getting a doctor to write me a script for it. Can someone plese tell me why DMPS would be a better choice then DMSA? Also, I was told my son has such severe malabsorption issues that it might not be a good time to start chelation. I just got his DDI test back this week and he his high in a number of metals. So I am weighing malabsorption vs. chelating. Please let me know if you can share any insight with me. Kathy
