Guest guest
Sounds like big full on gut issue.. 1. I would take out gluten in case she is gluten sensitive or celiac.. which can make absorption of nutrients harder, but this make take 6 months - 12 months before it starts to resolve. In the meantime she could try some celiac testing (like enterolabs) 2. Maybe some betaine HCl and enzymes with meals 3. Probiotics for her immunity and other gut healing things (glycine, glutamine, seacure, coconut, broths, etc) 4. Make sure the vitamins she is taking are good forms, that are chelated or easily metabolized. Make sure there are no competitors in her multi that she takes at the same time (Fe and Folate, Zn and Cu, etc.) My gut feeling here is celiac though. I wish her good luck! Her parents took her in to get tested, and she was low on everything even though she takes a mult vit. The doctor put her on a heavy duty multi vit, and they tested later. She still was not absorbing any nutrients. She asked me for advice (knowing I do supplements with my child). I told her enzymes may help or changing the vit. to something that is easier to absorb. Any advice?

Enzymes might also help. Dana
