Hi everyone- My PCP told me I was starting peri-menopause. I had a partial hysterectomy while having RA in 95 and still have ovaries in. I have adhesions from surgery and am fighting that problem along with the RA. I also have hyperthyroid disease caused by what else but RA. When my Gyn did blood work she said my estrogen was fine, progesterone is fine and my thyroid levels are fine also, but I have literally no testosterone which is essential for libido. It also causes fatigue. Having low testosterone is common for people going through menopause but I dont seem to be doing through that. Anyway, I read that progesterone cream can help this as well. There are two kinds of progesterone, male and female. When there is too much of the female hormone your testosterone can be severely effected. I will start progesterone therapy very soon. Funny how doctors dont even know about this. My gyn said if its a problem (which it is) I have no libido at all, and feel like a zombie, I can be given shots of testosterone. Are you kidding? Like my hair isnt already thin from the MTX, and just what I want to have to make me more attractive to my DH, Sprouting facial hair and acne. Gheesh. I do hope it helps. The cream was expensive, and it comes with a predose spoon so you dont use too much. I am glad someone brought this up. I just love this board. Yours, Deborah
