Most of us use Kirkmans ALA, they sell a 25mg capsule. We use the hypoallergenic

variety.

We aslo get the 25mg DMSA caps from vrp.com.

You dont have to wait to start ALA unless they have had rescent amalgam fillings

removed.

Unless you have a scale, it is going to be very difficult to measure 3 or 4 mgs.

Me personally, I would start them both at 5mg of ALA and DMSA, every three

hours, day and night, for three days, then take four days off. Repeat.

You get a 5 mg dose by dumping out the 25mg capsule on a mirror or other smooth

surface and making five piles. Do the best you can and don't freak out, 1/2 a mg

isn't going to cause any problems.

I would start them at the same time. You are getting up anyway.

Make sure to give lots of vitamin C, as well as 400 IU of E. Chelation causes

oxidative stress and you want to give antioxidants.

Subject: [ ] Chelating two children

I have two children that i would like to start chelating soon. Once we get the

proper supplements in place. Would it be best to start at the same time, or one

at a time a few weeks apart?

Also, my daughter is 33 lbs which would be 4 mgs dmsa. My son is 24 lbs and

would be 3 mgs dmsa. Could I start them at the same dose, so there's no

confusion when giving it?

How many rounds are recommended before adding ala?

I know I can get dmsa from www.vrp.com, but haven't been able to find ala in

small enough doses (25mg). Where/what brand do you all use? Thank you.

ia almost 4 yrs 0 rounds

Why not at the same time? Mine are not. They may not both be able to do a

round based on sickness, big weekend event for one and not the other etc. I

keep track on my calendar how many rounds.

Kirkman Labs has 25 mg.

I make and split enough doses for the weekend. They are then in a plastic

baggie. Yes, I have to be very careful to give the right guy the right dose.

I only did a couple rounds of DMSA. I'd say, try DMSA and see how it goes. If

no issues, add the ALA the next time.

when I did my two boys it was easiest to do them at the same time.  one right

after the other.  then I did not have to get up more than necessary and it was

easy to keep track of the number of rounds.

I recommend keeping a written log as you go so you can track good/bad for each

child and not have to rely on your memory for which child did what.  you can

also track supplements, timing and dosages...

I am now chelating two. We started our four year old a year ago, so we didn't

know at that time if our two year old would need it, since he was only a year

then. My 4 year old is WAY sensitive and couldn't handle the 1/8mg per pound of

body weight dose of DMSA so he was still slightly below what I started our 2

year old off at. When I added our two year old to the chelation rounds, I just

made them both at the same dose (2.5mg) so we aren't confused. I was doing

capsules with our four year old, because he swallows pills, but when I started

the liquid dosing for our two year old, I loved it so much that I started doing

that with our four year old too, lol. It's so much easier to prepare five doses

at a time than splitting the capsules individually! We added the ALA for our

four year old at round 6, and haven't added it in for our two year old yet, but

might try it this weekend, it's his third round.
