Hi there,

My DD takes ritalin and it affects her appetite too. The only supplement that

I've found that helps is to give her zinc daily and it makes a noticeable

difference.

My DD's sleep was also perturbed, but only for the first few weeks of adaptation

to the drug. Her sleep patterns got back to normal within a few weeks (I think

the sleep problems may have lasted 3-4 weeks). You can also try time-released

ritalin at some point, which we switched to several months ago and found it much

better for DD. It's effect is more constant and it wears off by end of

afternoon.

Have you tried dietary restrictions for hyperactivity? Feingold is meant to

help.

We tried everything possible, nothing made any significant difference except

ritalin, which has a dramatic effect on her attention.

Good luck,

ADHD symptoms. He ended up not eating for a whole day and felt nauseus

throughout. At night, he was hyperactive till past midnight. So under doctor's

advice, we are changing to Ritalin for him (half pill - 5mg). Currently we are

not adding the mid-day dose.
