My friend here in Calgary cured her rosacea on this program, along with other skin and body problems. Bee

Sould I continue to take the B Complex believing it is a healing reaction or should I back off the B Complex for now? Any input would be greatly appreciated. ----- Hi Mike I started taking Niacin separately to my B Complex last week. I started off at 25mg (no flush) and then increased to 50mg (slight flush). I usually take my supplements just after I have drunk my egg drink in the morning. The other morning I was in a hurry and took my supps on an empty stomach. The 50mg of Niacin on an empty stomach gave me this almighty flush, in fact worse than any of my previous cea flushing episodes. It was kind of scary as it felt like I had lost control of my body for a short time. It passed but I have decided to stick with 25mg in one hit for now and most definitely on a full stomach. Maybe over time I will be able to increase the dose to 50mg at a time. Of interest though is that normally when I flush, it is sure to be followed by p & p. This has not happened! So I am thinking that the Niacin is helping to get some of the heat out of my face. Well, that's kind of how it feels anyway. You may well find that your cea will flare up and simmer down on this diet. What I have found is that as each flare up happens, it is less aggressive. I started slowly on this diet in April and this is the first month that I haven't had a flare up and no p & p at all. It appears to coincide with my time of month but this month it didn't flare up. Whoo hoo! So for me, persistence is the key to the long term benefit of being cea free! Hope this helps. Jen

Guest guest
Mike wrote: Do you have a B complex you recommend to buy? ----- I buy Nature's Own Maxi B 100, which has pretty much the same ingredients as what Bee recommends. I only take one a day, rather than taking 50mgs morning and night. It doesn't contain natural Niacin as I can't find one in Australia that has Niacin in it, only the synthetic versions. That's why I take Niacin separately. Hope this helps. Jen

Guest guest
> > what b complex is everyone taking?? thankyou ==>Lilly you can get Natural Factors or take Nutritional Yeast Flakes; do an archive search to find out brands that are okay. I wrote to Frontier and they said their Nutritional Yeast Flakes do not contain wheat. Take 1 tbl twice a day mixed in water - I use warm water. The megadoses described are over 150 mgs per day. I'll be writing to an orthomolecular physician this weekend as ask his advice about this situation. If I don't get back to you write another message on Saturday. Bee

Guest guest
Andy wrote: > Hi Bee, were you able to contact that orthomolecular physician to > find out any more info on the B6. ==>Hi Andy. I received this reply from the orthomolecular physician: " Peripheral neuropathy can indeed be worsened or triggered by many substances. This includes B6. In general it is safe for most people with CMT to take up to 50 mg per day max. I would take that in divided dosages and watch for signs of reaction. If the patient has cramps often and is very sensitive to sunlight (burns easily) you need to look at Magnesium intake and status, this works in conjunction with B6 and lowers the requirement of B6. It is always better to take the entire B-complex, needless to say. " ==>Therefore, you can safely take 50 mg vitamin B complex per day total, but split it up between at least 2 doses @ 25 mg each or less. Also ensure you are taking calcium and magnesium per supplements recommended, but get the doctor to test your magnesium levels (after taking it for 5 days) so you can increase or lower it as required. ==>Do you have to be careful about B6 in foods, or is it only supplements that cause a problem? Guest guest
Thanks Bee! I have never paid attention to B6 in foods. I think the problem is mainly from mega doses. I tend to be hypersensitive to many many potentially helpful things so its always a challange to find things that I can take. I'll look for a B25 or B50 that I can cut in half. Guest guest
> Dear Bee, > > The liver ( the one to eat, not mine ) has all the B complex?, and can cause stomach pain too ? ==>No, liver would not cause stomach pain if you eat 2 tbls of sauerkraut or kimchi, plenty of saturated fat, and you take HCl tablets. >It is truth that liver is the part of the animal that keeps all the toxins, so when a person eat it is eating the toxins too? ==>Toxins are processed by the liver via ducts and blood vessels, but the liver doesn't store them. >And liver used is hard on the liver ( to digest or process). ==>Meats, eggs, and good fats are the very easiest foods for the body to digest! >I was wondering how much liver a person has to eat a day in order to full all the B requirements plus the protein requeriments. ( So that person doesn't have to eat another meat ) ==>Other meats are also important in the diet, but to fulfill vitamin B requirements eat 6 ounces of liver twice a week with plenty of fats like coconut oil or butter.
