Hi,

" Succimer or apple juice (vehicle) was administered twice daily via oral gavage

from PND31 to PND52. The daily succimer dose was 50 mg/kg body weight/day during

the first week of chelation, followed by 25 mg/kg/day for the second and third

weeks, similar to the regimen used clinically (Rogan et al. 2001). "

Half life of DMSA was not respected.....

I'm sure others will elaborate if you haven't read the files section.

I doubt test rats weigh much over a kilo, but I have seen some city rats that

were pretty darn big!

Yup. The joys of people playing gin rummy with pubmed abstracts.

I see the correct answer is below. The DMSA was given on a dangerous, harmful

and inappropriate schedule and not surprisingly that caused brain damage in the

rats.

It can do so in children, too, for example when given every 8 hours by DAN!

doctors practicing medicine without a clue.

At least they reported their experimental methods well enough we could figure

out what happened.
