Guest guest
I am new to the group and have loved reading all the info and stories on here. We have a son with PDD-NOS and a daughter with a mild speech delay/sensory issues and her nervous system seems injured, sensitive etc. We recently went to a new chiro who recommended a supplement called Glutathione. I read there are side effects to G but this supplement is not Glutathione, it is a supplement that helps your body produce it's own glutathione--so I felt comfortable giving it to them. THey have had it twice a day for the past 10days. Our son has shown major improvements in socialization and talking with no major side effects. Our daughter however woke up this am and threw up yellow muccus...she has been throwing up ever since, small amounts of clear muccus/bubbles etc...she is becoming lethargic, pale, cold and clammy....does any of this sound like a detox side effect? she doesn't appear to be sick, hasn't been around anyone etc We have also been using SMI in small amounts to fight their yeast problem. I am new to the idea of chelating and don't know what to expect as the metals leave---does anyone have any tips to share? Here is the ingredient list: Complete Glutathione: B1- 10mg B2- 10MG B6-5mg B12-50mg VitC 75mg Folic Acid 50mg Vit E 10iu Magnesium 500 mcg Zinc 500 mcg Selenium 10mcg N-Acetyl Crysteine 60mg, Alpha Lipoic Acid 10mg, L Glutamine 15mg, Super Oxide Dismutase 25mg, Catalase 20mg,Glutathione(reduced)5mg, Milk Thistle 50mg, Silybin 10mg, Rosemary 75mg, Tumeric 10mg Thank-you for your help!!! Guest guest
Hi there I am sure others will chime in, but I would stop that supplement right now. It contains alpha lipoic acid, which is a chelating agent. If this is not taken on a low dose and frequent basis (half life) it can cause heavy metal redistribution, which can cause regressions and other negative effects. The other little red flags would be that it contains n-acetyl cysteine, which can be bad for those who are sulfur sensitive, and also cause redistribution. The supplement does appear to carry some small amount of glutathione as well. Tumeric can cause these problems as well. Not too familiar with SOD.. but others might be able to illuminate on that one. Its pretty important to start with supplements slowly and one at a time, so you can see the issues. But the biggest issue with this supplement is the ALA. In good news, if you see your son progressing, he might be a responder to ALA chelation therapy and you might want to start there. Your daughter might need to start lower with the dosage if she seems to be reacting negatively. Hope this helps. From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Sent: Saturday, May 08, 2010 9:02 AM Subject: [ ] Help?
