Guest guest
My daughter is on round 27 of ALA chelation, start Fri late afternoon until Monday a.m. For the last 3 weeks, I have noticed that she is becoming irritable and throwing tantrums on Sat late morning to early afternoon (old symptoms that we haven't seen in a while), each week. This subsides, then the rest of the weekend is fine. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this? We're not doing anything else new, no new supplements, etc. Thanks. Guest guest
My son gets like this sometimes day two into a round, (on Sat.) just as you describe. This usually signals adrenal distress for him. We have increased his ACE on day two of the round, and we don't get this anymore. It sounds likes adrenal distress - the tantrums etc. For whatever reason it comes one day into the round, and then he would be good for the rest of the round. Perhaps moving a lot of metals after the first 24 hours. Anyway I would suggest additional adrenal support, perhaps some more C and E as well. Guest guest
Thanks Irene. We don't use any adrenal support right now - I am actually waiting for her adrenal test results to come back. I think I tried ACE in the past and we had some increased tantrums. She tends to be a very sensitive responder to lots of things, and so it could be that she just needed a lower dose of it. Good suggestion about increasing the antioxidants too. By the way, I use chelation supplements every day - should I be doing this, or only using them either on- or off- round? Thanks so much for your help! Guest guest
This has happened to my son as well. He seems to have some sulfur issues that Molybdenum helps with. I use a liquid form and put it into the water use washes his capsule down with a couple times a day. I agree with Irene it could be adrenals too. Guest guest
Thanks Jo. How much modybdenum do you use? Chelating amt or more? > > > > > > My daughter is on round 27 of ALA chelation, start Fri late afternoon until Monday a.m. For the last 3 weeks, I have noticed that she is becoming irritable and throwing tantrums on Sat late morning to early afternoon (old symptoms that we haven't seen in a while), each week. Guest guest
Try lowering the ACE amount. Some kids need just a fraction of a capsule. My son takes several capsules a day. He had adrenal signs on his hair test. Chelation especially with ALA stresses the adrenals. As to the supplements- you need to give them daily as you do and not just on round. The body needs the support when not chelating as well. Guest guest
Will try this. Guest guest
The advice to give ACE is good. You may also try to feed her more frequently. My son's blood sugar gets a little out of whack when chelating and he needs to eat more frequently. Guest guest
The product I have is this one: http://www.nutritioncentre.co.uk/index.php?doc=17 & product_id=1577 & curr=GBP I bought it overseas and am not sure if you can find it in US stores. But each drop is 200mcg molybdenum. We end up using 3 drops a day during rounds but get less as he doesn't always finish the water. The drops are brownish and make the water a bit amber but the taste is mild, hardly noticeable.
