Guest guest
Similasan might have some better options if you are worried about putting chemicals in your eyes. I think that is widely available. Why do you need it and do you use it regularly? There are some home remedies... I did a quick Google search for you to see what products still contained thimerosal, and found a question/answer session from THIS YEAR where a pharmacist told a worried pregnant woman (who already has a child with Autism and found out her eye drops have Thimerosal) that thimerosal isn't linked to Autism AND that the only real evidence out there actually showed thimerosal might lower the risk of Autism. Buffoon. I looked in to home farmed eggs not too long ago. The eggs are sterile when they are first laid, so collecting frequently and keeping the coop clean is key. They said not to wash them before putting in the fridge because you wash off the protective 'bloom'. When you do wash, make sure the water is warmer than the egg (as hot as your hand can tolerate) and don't soak them. I'd just wash them as you eat them, so you don't have to worry too much about what you use. Also, if you collect and egg that is obviously dirty, store it apart from the 'clean' eggs. The latest info on the Salmonella egg outbreak shows the chickens were in horrendous conditions... keep your chickens happy and clean! Guest guest
, I used to raise chickens and was raised largely on a farm, and all we ever did was rinse the eggs. You just want to be careful not to get the shell in the yolk or white after you crack it. I never once got slamonella from an egg. (I did get it form eating at a drive through taco place, though) I used to eat eggs raw --I mean, my mom used to make " egg milk " for us to drink. It was milk, egg, a little sugar, and vanilla flavoring. then she would put it in the freezer until it got very cold. I don't remember any of us ever getting sick from it. I think one be more likely to get sick from conventionally grown eggs from the large chicken houses.
Guest guest
when we had our chickens, we washed the eggs in a mild solution of water and white vinegar and refrigerated them immediately. nancy j a child is diagnosed with asd every 20 seconds From: jtmk98.535597 <lysva29798-dnttrst@...> Subject: [ ] Visine and mercury (no responses) ( & chicken eggs!) Guest guest
I've been raising my own chickens for the past three years. All I ever do is rinse them. Guest guest
Eggs have a thin protective layer. It is best not to wash the egg until just before you use it. When you wash it you are removing that layer, which opens it up to bacteria.
Guest guest
the problem we had with our eggs is the chickens layed them in their nests and often they had chicken poop on them, so they had to be washed. Washing with vinegar and water helped clean them and get the poop off, but we put them in the frig immediately. Also if you put them in an egg carton (cardboard of plastic) that keeps them fresher. You can't not wash them if they are dirty and free range chicken eggs get dirty from poop in nests. nancy j a child is diagnosed with asd every 20 seconds From: Carolyn Binger <cbinger2@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Visine and mercury (no responses) ( & chicken eggs!)
