Some may not know what "sed rate" is; sedimentation rate as I understand it is a level of "dead" white blood cells which form a sediment in a vial (I guess) of test blood. There will always be some sedimentation - I don't remember what a "good" rate is but if it is elevated, it indicates a higher level of inflammation in the body.
