I heard at a recent autism conference that yeast protocols should be rotated as

the yeast can build up immunity.

We currently use: nystatin 300,000 IUs per day, candex (2 per day), charcoal

between rounds, OoO 2 drops twice a day - this is for a 5 year old girl weighing

22 kg (50lbs) on DMSA/ALA 6mg AC protocol 84 hours on/off

Can someone help by advising:

1. What yeast protocols/ supplements we can rotate?

2. Location of the biofilm protocol?

Thanks so much

some practitioners really disagree with this and say that you end up

making the yeast resistant to everything. I don't know enough about

it but something for you to google or ask someone else about,

I wouldn't rotate. This is what will make the yeast resistant. Find

something(s) that work. Use them until you think that there's no more problem

or they're not working anymore. If, after a few months, you realize that

something that once worked is no longer working, choose something else. This

isn't the same a rotating.

IMO, what works best are enzymes to break down yeast walls together with lots of

bacteria, so probiotics in high doses and cultured foods. If you need killers,

use them in conjunction with enzymes. So enzymes first and then a few hours

later the killlers, followed up by loads of probiotics.

Biotin in sufficient doses will prevent the yeast from 'hiding'.

Sacc B is good if used for a block of time (one bottle, let's say) and then when

stopped, up the probiotics while the Sacc B is dying off.

Often people don't use nearly enough probiotics. We used 3 trillion CFUs a day

for a long period. That didn't include cultured food. IMO cultured food is esp

important for kids who would have been on antibacterials from a very early age.

Another common mistake is not understanding what action each of the antifungal

agents performs. People should be making decisions based on these functions so

that the attack on the yeast is widespread and logical.

Lastly, be sure that the immune system is functioning as optimally as possible.

This should never be done and any doctor who suggests it should be considered

dangerously incompetent.

>as the yeast can build up immunity.

No, this isn't correct. The way you breed resistant organisms in the lab is to

rotate the agent you want them resistant to.

By rotating agents you are essentially guaranteeing you will create a resistant

strain in your kid's gut sooner or later. If you DON'T want to do that, keep

them on one thing that works.

None, ever, no matter what anyone says. Never rotate antimicrobials.

Don't use it if you actually want your kid to get better.

it is EXTREMELY informative to talk to some adults who tried it on themselves.

Hi Anita

Had a quick review of my probios on the back of your post....can you tell me

what brand you were using to acheive 3 trillion per day? using cp1 i'd have to

give around 36 caps a day.....so i'll either be bankrupt pretty soon or my maths

is pants!!!!

(working on CP1 - 78 billion units per cap)

I'm assuming there are probios out there that have higher CFU's per cap....

Thanks

I know we've rotated, although not really rotated since we didn't return, just

moved on with diflucan first then onto nystatin, but that's because the diflucan

is too hard on the body to be on for too long, at least as I understand it...

we manage yeast here with a combination of a sugar free diet, oil of oregano,

grepefruit seed extract, biotin, candex and klaire therbiotic.the first three

supps we used for months and were rotating but the yeast always seemed to come

back, and the last two, we've only been using for afew weeks and the symptoms

seem to have cleared for now, fingers crossed it stays this way as hopping to

start chelation this weekend. we only do pears for fruit and water to drink. i

think the only sugar my son gets is from his supplements as some do test sweet.

Hi ,

We were using VSL#3 at the time, which is 450 billion, so pretty heavy duty. DS

was getting about 4 of those sachets, about 8-10 CP1, and about 10-12 Culturelle

a day (more for bacteria than yeast). We may also have been using some of the

theralac, or threelac, or even the one that looks like dirt that I can't

remember. We've used quite a few.

Not everyone needs a dose this high, but most people I believe are dosing too

low (esp if they're using killers like GSE too). Clearly it is ridiculously

expensive. One thing to keep in mind is that SCD yogurt has 3 billion CFUs per

millilitre. That would make 708 billion CFUs in a cup of yogurt. What I've

read, and I'm not sure if it's true or not, is that yogurt bacteria won't

colonize, meaning you need to keep ingesting it, like Sacc B. Kefir bacteria is

supposed to colonize. CFUs in kefir that is freshly made (not bought in a

store) are very high too. Throw in a bit of homemade kombucha and you're

getting a lot of bacteria for very little money.

So, it's possible to get these really high numbers on the cheap as well :-)

Which is what we do here now (smarter than we were before!).
