Guest guest
I've always heard you shouldn't use anything like that. It can interfere with the ingredients in the suppository as well as absorption. With any suppository we've ever used (for anything), I've always dipped it in warm water for a second or two and they've always gone right in. Kerrie In a message dated 5/10/2010 12:24:20 A.M. Rethink suppository chelation. There are many reasons why suppositories are not a suitable dosage form for chelation. If DMSA is given at intervals longer than every 4h there will be redistribution and regression that will be difficult to correct with proper chelation. The dose in suppositories is usually too high for a single dose, rectal absorption rate is erratic, leading to more redistribution and worsening. Imagine what it would be like to be the child who has a suppository placed every 4h around the clock for 3 days per week for years. Oral chelation is much better and less expensive. Guest guest
I'm guessing this is some large dose prescribed to you by your DAN doctor, to give once a day. This will harm your child even more. Forget the grease, don't do it. Chelate properly following the AC protocol. Read about it in the files section of the group. Guest guest
We did suppository because it doesn't kick up yeast like oral. We did the dosage based on his height/weight every 8 hours...NOT once a day. Don't assume, please. We used Emu Oil to help. I only stopped when it became an emotional issue around 5, and he wasn't dumping anymore in huge amounts. We now use OSR with no side effects. HTH, Kersten Educate the Tribune! Guest guest
The yeast comes from the metals moving through the gut, not the chelator. Doesn't matter how you get it into the body. The half life of DMSA is 4 hours, so you need to give it every 4 hours, day and night, to avoid metal re-distribution and more harm to your child or yourself. Not my opinion, just science. Read the book. OSR is an experimental supplement, with no published half-life, so it cannot be dosed safely.
