Guest guest
Hello All, I am a new member to this group. I joined a day back and I can not stop reading all great information that is available on this forum!! I have a 3 yrs old daughter, who has a possible underlying chromosome disorder along with behavioral and development delays. She also has developed absent seizures since past one and half years. Since her seizure frequency increased, we have started her on Keppra 2 ml twice a day dose since January 2010. Her seizures are not gone completely, however, are fairly under control. However, her behavior issues have flarred up and so is her attention issue. She is non-verbal and knows about 80 signs and uses that mainly to communicate. However, since past two months screaming and crying has only been her way of communicating. Less of eye-contact and increase in irritability has been a major issue. I really want to educate myself about chelation process and see if it would benefit her. However, I have some preliminary questions that I thought of asking you: 1. Is the hair test neccesary to do before beginning chelation? 2. What if mercury is not the problem and other heavy metals are? E.g. Copper? what is a chelation method for that? I am not sure if that is the case since we have not tested her. 3. Would hair test be enough to determine what should be next course of action for chelation of any kind of metal toxicity? 4. How would it affect her seizures and her being on anti-epileptic medicine during chelation? - This is my major concern!! 5. She has been diagnosed with speech apraxia as her receptive language is far better... is there anything else that you have tried that worked really well? 6. I had dental amalgam filled with Mercury... I got it replaced back in early Feb this year. We are planning for a second child... and I am concerned... should I go through chelation process myself prior to conceiving? How long would it take as time is of essence for us. what other precautions can I take? Sorry for bombarding everyone with tons of questions.... Thank you very much!!! Shruti.
