I think it'd be good for you to read the previous messages on the pages of this group from the very beginning, because there were many " new-comers " , the same as you, who asked for absolutely the same information. Moreover, you'll find plenty of useful advice and links for your preparation, while reading the previous messages. Good luck!

Guest guest
Hi Jeanetta, I have done my Bachelor degree in science (3 years) form India. I have a clarification to make on my application, to register as a pharmacy technician in the state of New Jersey. In the Education section of the application for the question asked to list all the degrees received from recognized colleges or universities and also have the colleges forward the official script for each degree earned. My question is : Do I have to mention my degree in the application, as only a high school diploma is required for a pharmacy tech. Is it okay if I don't mention my degree in the application? Only concerned because I had completed my degree years back and I don't think my college or university would be ready to forward the official transcript over here. Please advice me and let me know what I should do. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Dear Srilatha, There is no way I can tell you to lie to the government by omission. There may come a time that you will wish to use your college/university education in a different job setting, but if you omit it there will not be consistency if your pharmacy tech background is checked for that job. IF you will have problems getting the university/college to send paperwork you will also have problems getting the high school to send proof of graduation or diploma too, as it was more years ago than college. I work with some one who requested such information from India and it took about 6 months. We needed it for accreditation of the college. Fortunately it was not required for him to teach the pharm tech program and we were given a warning and once the paperwork came through we sent official copies to the accreditation team. But in your case you will need proof of highschool for sure. You may mention that you have a request into the school for a copy. IF you have the high school equivalent papers, but not the college there is a good chance that the state of NJ may over look that college paperwork, since it does not pertain to pharmacy. But it is best if you do not lie,you submit a letter of truth and what is actually going on. In this way you may be given freedom to pursue pharm tech registration and they may ask you to submit copies of paper work later. If you can not get the copies of the paperwork later, then you write another letter of truth explaining that. But again since it is not required I do not see how they can deny you. Perhaps a phone call to the state board of NJ pharmacy would help clear things up for you. In most states once you get a degree in pharmacy one an no longer work as a pharm tech. And they are mainly interested in if you are already a Pharm D/pharmacist or not. They do not want a tech with this high education to counsel pts. A tech is STILL a tech no matter how much education he or she has. Omission of certain information could be considered lying, which would make it a felony to lie on a governmental application (state). So I would definitely add it to the application. If the ask for a copy later, then send for it. If the application asks for a copy of your diplomas, then send for it first. either way SEND for official copies of proof of your eduation before more time passes. Guest guest
Hi Jeanetta, Thank you very much for your quick response. I totally agree with you, omitting right now shouldn't become a problem later on. Now, I am clear on my doubt. Guest guest
> I work with some one who requested such information from India and > it took about 6 months. Something else the OP should consider is whether the state government requires the school transcripts to be " apostilled. " [1] You don't want to spend 6 months waiting on something only to find it's not accepted. The way I understand it, agencies usually want notarized documents. A notarization is only certification that the person signing the document is who they say they are. Not certification that the document is a true copy. But, schools have a " notary public " on staff who notarizes their own signature on the declaration that it's a true copy. That serves something like a dual purpose. Like a self-referencing certification. That's good enough for domestic exchange of documents because you can easily check of the notary's signature is recognized by the state they are licensed by. International is a different thing. Someone in the US can't easily ascertain if a notary in another country is authorized. That's when it has to be " apostilled. " The document has to be notarized/sealed by every agency up the chain, all the way to the country's State Department. That signature is the only one that can be easily verified at an international level. So, if I were moving to a country like Argentina (where I know apostiled documents are required), I'd have to get my transcripts notarized. Then apostilled by my county clerk (who would verify the notary's signature). Then apostilled by my state's secretary of state (who would verify the county clerk's signature). And then apostilled by the United States secretary of state (who would verify my state's secretary of state's signature). It's a time-consuming process. Some consulates will apostille documents because they can verify signatures of officials in the state they are within. (So, if apostilling is required, the US consulate in the Indian district of that school might be able to apostile the document). In the US there are commercial services that do it all for you. Sorry if that's more information than anyone wanted. But, the OP should be sure of the state's requirements. It wouldn't be unusual to require apostiled documents. And, frankly, if I had to wait 6 months for ordinary documents, I'd do the apostille just so the documents can be used for something else which may have higher standards. (Better than waiting another 6 months.). [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostille Mark
Guest guest
My son is 35 pounds in weight and 6 yrs old.If i need to give 1/8th to 1/2 mg per pound of dmsa to start what would be the safe bet........1/8 or 1/4 or 1/2. when and how much ala can i add Thanks Laila
Guest guest
I would start with a 1/4 capsule, which would be 6.25mg. This is a little more than 1/8mg per pound. You can start with ALA right away as long as there hasn't been recent exposure, like amalgam removal or vaccination. Same dosage, give both every three hours day and night. Guest guest
I think it would be much better to start with a 25mg capsule. Breaking it down to small doses is near impossible without a scale. This is the one a lot of us use.
