Guest guest
I get something similar to this in both knees when I am in a car. For me, it is because I am keeping my legs in the same position for too long, of course it still hurts now though. My body stiffens in many places when in the same position for a long time. Just tonight I was laying on the couch with my cat laying on top of me. She looked so cute and comfy I didn't have the heart to get up or change positions. Now my back feels like it has been bruised! > > I'm having the strangest knee pain. It doesn't seem like it's directly in the joint. It's my > right knee and over towards the inside. Guest guest
well, now the pain is a full-on, very straightforward knee joint pain. it's hurting so much that I can even feel it in my foot indirectly. it's a severe dull pain when not moving, but very intense, sharp when moving. I can just barely put any weight on it. I have never had this problem before in the history of my RA. I just took two extra strength tylenol rapid release gels and it seems to have helped. if I weren't pregnant, I'd be begging for Loritab or something similarly strong. I predict I will wake up with it throbbing in the middle of the night tonight. i thought it had gone away today, but when the sun set it was back big time! sorry to just whine. but OUCH!!! wendy
Guest guest
This pain sounds exactly like the pain I suffered at the beginning of my RA, got so bad that during the night I had to wake up and use my hands to move my leg if I wanted to roll over in the night. It was incredible and at first not associated with RA but as it progressed the fluids in the knee built up until I had to have a doctor drain the knee of fluids. I can't say I know how to treat this since the only thing that helped me was draining the fluid followed by a cortizone shot in the knee....first one helped for 30 days, second time the doctor repeated this but also put some fluid in with the cortizone to fill the cavity that was there from the inflamation, after that shot I never had the pain again. Guest guest
Thats how alot of my RA pain feels. Thats how I explain the pain to people, is that is feels like its internally bruised. I hope its nothing more serious that I've been missing. " R. Peek" <wendyhollander@...> wrote: I'm having the strangest knee pain. It doesn't seem like it's directly in the joint. Guest guest
, Can you get a cortisone shot while your pregnant. Those have always done wonders for me. Good Luck! " R. Any ideas anyone? wendy , One thing you can have without worrying while you'er pregnant till you can get to the dr is ICE ice it off & on 15 or 20 mints at a time and see if it helps it i use ice every nite on my back and it helps it alot i dont enven take it off any more and have no problems but dont try that , you see what works for you . I allso use ice on my knees when they act up i have R/A & O/A in them and the right one needs to be replaced already . john Photos Ring in the New Year with Photo Calendars. Guest guest
I too am having problems with my left knee. I don't have a lot of pain but due to the kracking, popping, and weakness in the knee I can hardly get out of a chair. My grandson had to help me up a little bit ago. About eight months ago my Dr gave me a series of five shots in that knee and he said I'd probably have to have another series of shots in six months. Well the six months have passed but I do believe sometimes in 2006 I will have to have another series of shots. Now if they could just cure the lower back pain. That is so painful I can hardly walk. Guest guest
: I really don't have a clue what it could be. Are you still on the Arava? As you know, I am having issues with nerve problems in my feet and they are thinking its either the Arava, or the Enbrel, or both. You could check with your rheumy office and see if they want to see you. I hope that things start looking up for you. And also wanted to extend my belated congratulations on the new college plan! and Rob 16 Spondy On Wed, 22 Feb 2006 16:29:59 -0800 (PST) Salvucci <lisa_salvucci@...> writes: So the last few months every once in awhile I will get a strange tingling prickly almost electrical shock feeling on the right side of my knee cap on my right leg and it tingles through and under my knee cap and can be pretty painful. Guest guest
it well could be from over expercising or the way your sitting because it sound like a nerve is being pinched to me But thats just one thought. hplta Rusty
Guest guest
Hi , sit's with her legs under her or straight out depending how she's feeling. I also sit this way. I am not really sure if does this because it feels better or if actually she's like me and we are both short legged and I don't like to sit and my legs swing so I sit on mine lololol. With Arthritis the way I was told is it is like sand on the joint and grinds. I would call the dr and go for a check up and xray. To be on the safe side. Another thought is your knee cap could be easily slipped out of joint. My sister had this happen and ended up with the dr cutting the muscle on each side. She is doing ok but she has her moment's.
