Guest guest
Mickie has always been inappropriate about putting his hands in his pants, seemed to be when his diaper was uncomfortable or something, but now he is putting his hands in the back side all the time. I was counting my blessings, because he wasn't doing it in the morning when I got him dressed for school, but today he did and got really angry when I told him no. He would not take his hand out of his pants and he is so strong I could barely get the strength to take his hand out of his diaper. Is this Yeast or just plain OCD? I'm thinking it has to be yeast because he is making messes with poop too!!!The poop smearing has been going on for about a year and a half, so it's not because of chelation. Let me note that he just had his 5th round of chelation all in a row. I chelate every weekend from Friday to Sunday. Before this he had about 20 rounds spread out over a period of seven years. I didn't know enough about it and kept stopping every time something seemed odd. All those times I chelated 3 days on and 11 days off. My mom thinks I should find a psychiatrist and get him on some OCD medication, but I want to stick with naturals supplements. Any ideas? Guest guest
My son went through a period of constantly putting his hands in the back of his pants and also began having aggressive behavior and getting upset at the slightest things. This was atypical behavior for him. This went on for a few months and when we saw our DAN doctor for the first time and reviewed his Urine and Fecal results it was determined he had yeast. That was the first time I heard about yeast issues and Autistic children. At the time our son had only been diagnosed with Autism for about 6 months and was 3 years old at the time. Our Dr. suggested using Diflucan to get rid of the yeast and then we began a yeast protocal with various supplements. After we completed the 3 week round of Diflucan he completely stop putting his hands in his pants and his aggressive behavior completely went away. I was totally amazed what yeast can do to our children. So, I would definitely try to get a prescription for an Antifungal to start with to get rid of the yeast and then start a yeast fighting protocol through supplementation. I hope this is helpful and best wishes to you and your son. Guest guest
He has regressed so much in the last year and a half. I wonder if yeast overgrowth could make him loose cognitive abilities. This may sound harsh, but he is turning into a little savage! I don't know what to do and I can't afford the outrageous prices of Dan doctors-they are ridiculous!! Guest guest
I don't think you are being harsh b/c I know I spent time wondering what happened to my sweet boy and was scared that his behavior was what I was going to have to deal with. I can't imagine one round of Diflucan would hurt him so I would see if your regular pediatrician would prescribe it for you. I know DAN doctors can be expensive and you do need to be careful and be sure to get one you can trust just like any doctor. We saw a doctor at Thoughtful House in Austin initially and that's where we found out about the yeast. They really try to work with you and we do some consulting via email so I don't have to pay for an office visit. Guest guest
Interesting enough he was on diflucan, nystatin when he started this behavior and I wonder why. I have a few unopened bottles. Guest guest
That's a dead-ringer for yeast at our house. Barb [ ] Is this yeast???? Guest guest
Your mom is wrong, you are right about not wanting any drugs. My ideas about poop problems go in the same direction as to other mom who has posted about the topic: do you have him on enough digestive enzymes?? Could be yeast....could also be a parasitic infection. Any recent stool tests done? Could be helpful. How old is your kid? This is serious problem, needs to be addressed, no wonder you are worried. Guest guest
For my son, messing with genitals was yeast - it resolved when we got yeast under control - which took time and effort. When my son would dig around his butt, it was parasites here. The full moon is a week away. Parasites become more active with the full moon. We needed to treat for parasites and yeast for a long time to fully eradicated the problems, but after 2 or 3 months of serious chelation, yeast control, and parasite treatment those behaviors started to fade, and in about 6 months practically diminished here. OCD meds - we did not use and my son did have an OCD dx. We used OLE. After a flare we used OLE again and anti-virals. Guest guest
No stool test, not recently anyway, but he sure act like it. He is 12 now. He takes digestive Enzymes with every meal. My mom feels the same way. She has seen me withdraw from all social situations and she just worries about him doing something so inappropriate right when someone is over our house. Not everyone in understanding. Lately he just does things like that out of the blue. This morning took me by surprise. Funny just a few weeks ago I had mention to my mom, that I was counting my blessing since he wasn't doing anything like that in the morning after I got him ready for school....boy was that short lived!!!
