Guest guest
We have completed 42 rounds of AC chelation for our almost 9yr old son. We have been chelating for almost one year. Used DMSA then added ALA. After reading a few posts I am comcerned because on most rounds we go almost four hours for one night dose. It was my understanding that 4hrs at night was ok. Throughout day we do every 3 hours. Which is it 3 or 4? And I am taking a chance with 4? Could I have done harm? Also while I definitely see cognitive improvement, willingness to try new foods and much improved receptive language, I was hoping a year into chelation would yield more progress. My fear is, what if my son isn't a responder perhaps the cognitive gains etc. etc. are result of RDI or something else. He did meet all counting rules, but then someone posted that the hair tests are inaccurate. I am certainly not stopping chelation just wanted some experienced chelators thoughts. Thanks so much
Guest guest
Every 4 at night is ok, because of slower metabolism. Guest guest
Thank you ! > > Hi Mimoza, > Give both together every 3 hours during the day and every 4 at night. Much easier to keep track of that way. > S S > > Re: Chelation Questions > Posted by: " mimoza_mali " m.mat31@... mimoza_mali > Fri Jul 9, 2010 7:23 pm (PDT) > > I have similar question. I have been doing the ALA every 3 hours during the day and every 4 hours during the night-8pm,12pm, 8am along with DMSA, which I give to my son every 4 hours day and night. Is the best option to give both ALA and DMSA every 3 hours day and night or continue with what I am doing? I am not sure if I can give DMSA every 3 hours. > > Thank you, > Mimoza >
Guest guest
Laila, For me, I just dumped out the DMSA capsule contents and separated the contents in to 4 equal looking piles; usually with a utility knife. Think drug dealer! But, for us it worked. Some people use a scale. A round should be as close to 72 hours as you can get, but some people miss that last dose because of school on Monday morning. Going longer, if you can make it work with school and still dose every 3-4 hours, is just fine. If you wish, you can actually snip open the end of a vitamin E gel cap with a scissors and squeeze out the contents. I've done that before. I think you can start chelation without molybdenum and selenium. Do you have a multivitamin/multimineral in place? That typically already has both supplements anyway. I take my probiotic on an empty stomach. I'm not sure if there is a problem mixing probiotics with fiber, but I know there are products out there that contain both. I would not worry too, too much about spacing the 3-4 doses out exactly. I would also not worry too much about cutting the 4 doses down to 3 for most supplements. Chelators are generally the thing you don't mess around as far as dose/schedule. Vitamins and minerals are more forgiving. You can give one dose before school. One dose when he gets off the bus. One dose before bed time or around bed time. I'm sure others will chime in if they think I am wrong. Good luck with the beginning of chelation. I hope you see wonderful things. Guest guest
The reason to give probiotic later in the day is mainly away from the yeast fighting stuff like GSE that will kill the probiotics. The rule of thumb is 2 hours seperation. 72 or 84 hours, either is good. Do the best you can. To split a 25mg capsule in four, dump out on a mirror or other smooth surface and split into 4 piles. Close is OK. Get a " Dry E " and dump it into juice, cold food, etc.. Antioxidants are the most vital, you can start without Selenium or Moly. Fiber and probiotic are fine. You can mix it all together except yeast killers and probiotics. Three times a day, four times, it's all good. We mix everything together and give it throughout the day as best we can.
