Guest guest
Concerning Message 3 from the latest digest.""Message: 3 Date: Wed, 28 Dec 2005 08:20:38 -0800 (PST) From: Jack McGuire <jackmcguire_2000@...>Subject: Using this list for RA information is getting tedious"" Before anyone jumps on Jack, on the list or privately or anyone gets their feelings hurt. I too receive the list in digest form and can relate to most of what he wrote. I mostly lurk on the list, but try to read the start of threads from the digests to see if there is anything I can benefit from. I enjoy the personal notes as someone who does not have a lot of family, it gives me a RA family to eavesdrop on. That said, sometimes I get 60K worth of email in the form of a digest from this group that contains over 90% of undeleted email from previous replies to the original post. For those of us with dial-up or cell phone internet, it takes a long time to download. It is also really hard to find the start of the individual emails in the list of emails from the past couple of days or more. For those of you how do not know what a digest format looks like, I would be more than happy to post one to the list. Jack is expressing the same frustration I have with the clutter on the digests, and not just this group. I have been on other lists where the list moderator steps in to kindly help list members learn to trim their posts, this is a positive thing. Kind of like learning not to use all Capitol letters, because that's shouting. I really really like this list, please delete the old emails from your posts.
