Then, because I do not find Vancouver and exciting place to be and everyone I know there are busy this Friday - I'd just be turning around and repeating that trip back home again, except that it's a Friday and likely the ferries would be backed up, due to all those people that are willing to spend a gross amount of $$$ just to come a visit the island. On top of that, they should have been given me these meds at the end of July anyway; but, the confidential Pharmaceutical Co has had a horrendous hold up in distribution. In fact, it was only today that the clinician was able to assured these meds would be there by Friday. So, we started hunting an alternative to that longggg drive. For an hour or two, we thought he could catch the shipment and have it sent directly to my Pharmacy here in town. But, because it is already on the way to Vancouver, that couldn't be changed. Then, a client stops by this morning and tells me that his wife his leaving for Vancouver tomorrow to visit her grandchild and it turns out will be just down the road from the clinic. Guest guest
Hi Don, You don't want the government single payer plan but you'd feel comfortable with health insurance from a for profit private company, is that what you're saying? How are you going to pay your premiums? What will you do after you max out your coverage? As it is now only the well employed and the well off can afford health insurance. The disabled, the poor, and the veterans already have single payer. It's that group of folks in the middle who have to get sick enough to go to the emergency room that are without. For every issue like the one Gloria described you can find the same thing with private insurance. Many of the current bankruptcies are people who went bankrupt because of medical expenses and that's from private health care. Statistics show that Americans pay more and get less than countries with single payer health insurance. Those who argue America has the best health care fail to mention that's only at the top end for those who have the money to pay for it. best, +_++++++++++_++_+_+_+_+_+__+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+__+_________________+ The idea that socialism hurts big pharma is absurd. I just got my flu shot and it came from Australia. The H1N1 flu vaccine is coming from Sanofi a French German company. It freaks me out watching the health care debate going on in this country. I cant imagine anyone with any sense wanting the govt to take over due to issues like you describe. Guest guest
Truthfully DonIt was something that I went through and got over a long time ago. I filled for an extension to pay that fine a year later and that filling out papers for the reason. The only response I got from the Prosecutor in court no matter how much he knew - was, I will not go for any extension of time !!! Even the Accountant that was Trustee of our bankruptcy was shocked at the totally callous attitude. I was supposed to be being used as an example to other people in our little area, to show that the government will hound you to get their perception of money that is owed. Well, that ploy holds no water because ALL of my clients knew full well that I was like the bitch from hell when it came to each tax and timing to pay them. I just didn't do my own was all.Remember, even back 5 years ago, when this all happened - neither a judge, the prosecutor nor my own lawyer felt there was any need to investigate the Hep C illness even one step further !!! Guest guest
Betty:I have to repeat - I am on a Clinical Trial that is run through a Hep Clinic in Vancouver. My meds can not be mailed or couriered to me at any time. It's all very confidential!!! It's the price I pay to be a guinea pig early on this trio and since July 31st, I usually would only have to go every three months. Like, next month when I go, that should be the last meds I will get. However, even after my CT Scan next week, who knows what other tests I'll have to do.My first time on tx - I would just go down to the pharmacy and pick them up. However, nobody knew enough to check my viral rate again after the first 3 months, or they would have known that the virus had replicated itself and the TX wasn't working.Gloria Don and Gloria, Hello, I know its prob very different in Canada but they actually mailed my injections to me monthly and called about 1 week ahead of time to be sure you are still using them and then advixed what day they would arrive by UPS. Guest guest
Hey guys,  How are you. I took my daughter to a regular doctor that specializes in autism and she prescribed low dose Risperidone to help my daughter with her hyperactivity to give together with the supplements her DAN doctor prescribed for her. She said Riperidone is not bad and she has not seen the side effects affecting children. Any thoughts on this?
Guest guest
Risperidone, I thought, was used for aggression, irritability and severe behaviors; not hyperactivity. I would not use it for hyperness. I question your MD's judgement based on what you describe as your symptoms (merely hyper?). It is one of those drugs that apparently carries the risk of suicidal behavior/thoughts, grogginess and weight gain. Personally, unless I was dealing with a dangerous situation or at my wits end, I would not use this drug. I have an aversion to psychotropic meds and meds for children in general. That is just me (and I live with a child on the milder end of the spectrum). Pam > > > > > Hey guys, >  > How are you. Guest guest
If you don't tolerate them, they do. My son did poorly on B6 (pyridoxine) but does very well on P5P (active form). He needs the Bs. B6 and magnesium together have been touted as great for hyperactivity. Problem is to find the forms that work best, and to correct any other issues that might affect metabolism of B vitamins and such. I think there is actually a study out there that showed B6 supplementation worked as well, or better, than Ritalin. Guest guest
Thanks for your input. I will talk to the pain doc in a couple of weeks. Barb From: RSSSCOLIOSIS@... <RSSSCOLIOSIS@...> Subject: Re: Medications Scoliosis Treatment Date: Thursday, August 12, 2010, 3:12 PM  Hi Barbara... You said that you've tried neurontin, and you want to stay away from codone based medications (I'm assuming you'll referring to such medications as Vicodin (acetaminophen and hydrocodone), and Vicoprofen (hydrocodone and ibuprofen). Other pain medications that come to mind are Ultram (tramadol) and Duragesic (Fentanyl). I'm not sure if Ultram contains codone, or not. Fentanyl is one of the strongest, if not the strongest narcotic pain medication available. It comes in both patches and lollipops, and has it's own side effects (especially after long term use). The patches are worn for 72 hours, and come in 12.5, 25, 50, 75, and 100 mcg. strengths. I used Fentanyl Patches beginning in December 2001 through April 2008. I began with the 25mcg strength, and had to increase the strength to get the same relief. Over time I found the " cure " worse than the " disease " due to the side effects; but, it did help relieve the pain through mid 2007. Fentanyl is extremely difficult to get off of on your own. I went through the Cleveland Clinic's Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program during the month of May 2008, and currently on Neurontin, Sinequan, and Remeron. Hope this helps!! S. Medications Hi All, I don't often post, but I have a question about meds. Right now I have a 30 degree S curve which has progressed over time and seems to be getting worse. I have been suffering from pain for 10 years, and that is getting worse as well. So far no doctor wants to do surgery. I am 62. I have tried many, many meds and physical therapy etc. Right now I use tramadol in combo with advil and tylenol if need be. I have a pain specialist. I tend to want to avoid the codeins because of their side effects. I will be seeing pain doc in a couple of weeks to review, and I was wondering if anyone has used anything non-codein that has been helpful? I have also used lyrica and neurontin in the past. I guess I am looking for a special magic pill that is not codein based. Thanks
