HiI'll be getting Humira from mail order pharmacy. My RD explained that most insurance companies won't approve the biologic unless you go thru mail order as they get it cheaper. I haven't gotten the first shipment yet...so I don't have too much to add to that. I'll be getting it from Pharmacare.

I wonder how that works since Enbrel has to be refrigerated. My insurance company sent me something in the mail about getting my drugs through the mail, but that was before I

switched to Enbrel.

Ok thanks for sharing that with us. I work all day, everyday, so that might not work for me anyway.

I have gotten my enbrel through the mail order pharmacy called

Caremark for the last 2 years. Before my prescription runs out,

they call me and ask if I am ready for my next shipment. They stay

in touch with the doctor to handle the refills. They call me to

schedule a shipment date. It is packed in a polar pack box with ice

packs and is sent net day air. I have never had any problems with

it arriving still cold and have never run out of it this way.

I have loved getting my Enbrel this way. Good luck to you.

My Humira comes to my work at an agreed upon day, packed in cold packs.

I've used mail-order exclusively and there has been no problems. Most will

even call to remind you when you need more or when you need a new Rx.

Working shouldn't be a problem, have it shipped to your work if you have a refridgerator.

Hello,

I have not used either of those specific companies but I have been using mail order for many years now. When I was on Enbrel I also got mine via mail order and was required to order a 3 month supply for two times the co-pay. I would order via phone or on-line and it tells you the exact delivery day. Mine came via Fedex before 11am on the delivery day. I paid with a credit/debit card. In some cases they will bill you.

It was really nice because I never had to stand in pharamcy line. I never had any product problems as the ship was well packed in special shipping cooler and on ice packs. You do have to be home to receive it though as it requires a signature.

Most insurance companies require all long term meds be done mail order. It helps control cost as well they usually over you a savings by getting three months at a time.
