Recently I read that foods containing the chemical HFCS tested high in MERCURY!

HFCS or HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP has replaced sugar in almost every processed

food and beverage.According to a spokesperson for Coca Cola " we use whatever

sweetener is the cheapest " . The MERCURY levels found in everything from Heinz

Ketchup, Yoplait yogurt, Coca Cola, etc. are " safe " according to the FDA. When I

wrote to Kraft Foods and FDA and other food conglomerates, I received the

typical non-answer letters. There are only a couple corporations which own all

the name branded foods. Presumably corporate dollars dictate FDA policy. I had

an " aha " moment when I read that HFCS may have been purchased from Chinese

sources and MERCURY was used to extract the chemical. Now the corporations claim

that MERCURY is no longer being used in the production of HFCS. The AUTISM

statistics claim a decrease in new cases. Will somebody out there please put

together the two graphs: 1.The increase in use of MERCURY-made HFCS in processed

foods. 2.The reported cases of AUTISM. IS there a connection? Obviously, the

MERCURY in immunizations does not explain increases and decreases in AUTISM. In

my opinion, HFCS is a poison and shuld be banned from foods. Like DDT, HFCS has

poisoned us all! We need to lower the " safe " level of MERCURY in foods and

beverages according to scientific fact of accumulated levels, not based on

corporate greed. FDA needs to stop playing politics with food safety.
